Its Official!!

I just found out this morning that I now have a surgery date!  On the morning of 12/17/2008 I will go under to receive the Lap-Band.  Things were crazy today getting a few phone calls in to arrange things, but all is in order so far.  Wow, the feeling to knowing its going to happen, and soon, is exciting, frightening and strange all wrapped into one.

That is a relief isn't it.  You will be just about one month behind me.  I hope you have a great experience and keep us up on how you are doing.

The best of luck to you.  I am 6 days before you and I am getting the realize band. I can't wait I know you are excited. Cross you fingers that all you pre op stuff will be good I know I am.

Thank to you all for the good words and support.  Pre-Op testing went fine today.  A few pounds up due to all the turkey dinner trimmings, but nothing that will not be gone by the 17th.  Got all my instructions and special soap.  I am now mentally at a point where it is now tangible and real.  Now I have 16 days to mentally prepare for the event.

renegadebkr, I am surprised you are getting the Realize Band.  My doctor actually wadded up the paper that I signed that agreed to him having the last say as to which band he would install, saying that "I don't put the Realize band in my male patients.  There is only one size, and most men need the larger Lap-Band band." Maybe it is due to my size that the one-size Realize band just wouldn't work.  Hope all goes will for you too.
