Heyya fellas!

Well, I did it! Weighed in this morning... a couple days past my official one year anniversary, but oh well....  455... 201 lbs lost!

BMI went from 79.9 to 56.2...   (35 range is goal).

What a difference in my quality of life.  I still have 165 to go to goal, but you know what, it will come along just fine!

Sip sip sip, walk walk walk!

Thanks to everyone who inspired me, advised me, and encouraged me.. I won't list them, cuz I'll forget someone!  But thanks!

Dale, greetings from sunny southeast Florida.  Just wanted to tell you what a great job you've done.  I couldnt help but notice that where your weight and bmi is now is almost about where I was when I decided to have my surgery (got down to 417 the day of surgery).  I hate to remember how lousy I felt at that that weight and how much better I feel now at 195.  I guess what I'm trying to say is, imagine taking how good you feel now and doubling it when you reach your goal.  You'll be so high that no one will be able to bring you down.  Keep up the good work and Happy Holidays.

John,
Thanks!  Yeah, it does strike me funny sometimes that I feel so good at a point where others are just beginning.. LOL.. It's just because I am soooo far from where I started!  Coming from being partially paralyzed, bedfast for 2 years, and mostly homebound for 4 more years... being able to travel the US and Canada, and walk up to a mile at a time... well, it's night and day.

I just have to again thank everyone on this site for the inspiration, and God for the Grace to do it!

Congrats dreamer. I didn't realise we were so close. I past my 1 year anniversary on the 26th. I'm down right at 200, but I've been stuck there for 2 months. I've gotta go back tot he fundamentals that got me there and more. Walking, protein, cut out the starches and sweets. Thanksgiving was a ******g dietary disaster.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.

Thanks JFish!  Yep, only one day difference.  I found out very quickly to keep up the protein.  Every time I stop losing, I doublecheck my protein and water levels.. raise it up, and I start losing again.  It's funny, if I feel like I'm eating too much, that's when I lose weight.  Of course I have to make sure it's the right things...

Even a year out.. I still have to eat every 2-3 hrs... which is harder to do now that i'm working full time again.  I'm sure it's easier for me than others tho, since on the road, I just keep a cooler beside me with drinks... good snacks etc.

I pack roast beef, turkey, cheese, banannas, nuts etc.  It helps a lot to have my own food with me.

I'm sure you'll get back on track, you actually have been ahead of me the whole time!

PS.. that avatar?  That ain't right.........

Happy surgerversary my friend, you are doing awesome. It seems like just yesterday when you started on your journey, it has been exciting to see you as you have changed this last year. You're going to find out like I have the first year is just the beginning and it keeps getting better and better as time goes on. Things I can do still amaze me even after 2 years out, and I am sure it will happen to you also. Don't know if you have ever given it any thought but you would make a great support group leader. Your story is truly an inspirational one and I think it would inspire others. If you are interested you could train here on OH like I did. It is a great program with great benefits in getting supplies and samples for your support group.
