Facial EMS, Would it Work?
Hi Guys,
EMS is NOT Emergency Medical Services, it stands for Electronic Muscle Stimulation. This is supposedly does not build thick body muscles, because the electricity can not reach beyond the surface muscle, however I'm wondering if it might work on the thinner more delicate face muscles?
The face is looking rather shrunken after nearly three years. PLS is not an option, but I have noticed if I were to have some of my old facial structure back, it would make the face look much better.
At 27 I had a really meaty face:

Anyone familiar with EMS for the face?
Thanks,
Dave

Well , also take into considerdation with guys our (former) weight (and the same for Elvis, they said) our faces are going to have some permanent "pooch" due to years of edema ..
There are facial exercise you can do, where you scrunch it up and make weird faces and hold it for several seconds, to build up some muscle mass using isometrics ...
There is also that gizmo they used to sell on T.V. that looks like a "Jew's Harp" that you stick in your mouth and squeeze against it with your lips and sides of your mouth to tone the facial muscles (haven't seen one in a couple of years or so, though) . I think it was something that Richard Simmons developed ..
As to E.M.S., some of my PI clients use it to get rid of pain from swelling due to their car wreck injuries .. I'll ask the doctor that prescribes it (and his co. actually sells them the T.E.N.S. units) if he thinks it would help for facial toning ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "
HW/461 LW/251 GW/189 CW/274 (yep, a DS semi-failure - it happens :-( )
I've used a tens unit regularly for my back and it doesn't build any type of muscle....but like all things YMMV...you could buy a device and try it. The only 100 percent sure thing would be to have some fat sucked out of your ass and put into your face (that is if you have any fat in your ass....if not borrow some from Batwingsman's moobs...sorry paul had to say it...lol.
There are dermal fillers like botox and restylne that will give you a more youthful face, but with weight loss and naturally with age, we lose fat tissue in our face. I think if any EMS device worked that no company would need to advertise it, word of mouth would make it the hottest selling device in the world.
Scott
PS some women have tried collegen stimulation therapies (i.e thermage) and they've had mixed results.
PSS Sacrey how much I know about this **** at 36...but as I always say, "i didn't get thin to look old"

Thanks guys! Maybe I'll try the ass thing. I was thinking silicon might work, but not sure. Botox is only temporary and expensive too.
I have been reading since the first post and found that electricity does not work AND the regular EMS is not considered safe for the face and neck, these require a facial stimulator (two nasty buzzwords!) WHICH supposedly does NOT work.
I'm sure I'll have to either take up Jujitsu or some similar face punishing form of martial arts if I do any of these. Then I can tell everyone that the redness and swelling are an injury.
Best Wishes,
Dave

Like they say, you can always lose weight to look better but the face is what it is. I was told that there is a section on your face you should never touch (whether it's acupuncture, botox, collagen, EMS or whatever). It has to do with ancient Chinese practices about it being an "untouchable" zone. And you know the Chinese have almost no limits to where they will stick things. But when it comes to the face they are very careful...
