Merry Chistmas from Mexico
Hey guys...
I haven't visited the men's room for ages. I am sure that a lot of you haven't knowm of me at all but I used to be a usual visitor at this forum... I am here to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a wonderful New year.
From Mexico please have a big and sincere manly hug.
A quick update: I have succesfully mantained my weight for more than two years, I have gone from over 305 to 185 pounds in nine months and keep this weight since then. I will have my third surgyversary on January. My life has gone to a wondeful path. I have a wonderful and rewarding job. My family is living a time that is peaceful and harmonic. I had to go through a lot of things after my surgery but it was a process that made me become a happy man and the losing of weight was just the starting. I had to process my personality, my relationship with food and my relationship with my family. Nowadays I have a healthy relationship with food. I eat really healthy and love it to keep it that way.
I am living a happy and peaceful life with my family out of my home town Guadalajara. Nowadays I live in a little town called Jilotepec in the center of Mexico. We are living in the country and we are certainly having a wondeful life here.
I hope that all of my friends here are well and having a happy life. I wish you all to have a wondeful hollydays season. My respect and best wishes.
Sincerly
Alejandro from Guadalajara Mexico

Alejandro!
Welcome back and Merry Christmas! I rememeber you were here when I first started posting as a pre-op more than three years ago. I'm glad to hear that you are doing well and that you have kept your goal of 185. It's equally good to hear that the job and family life are doing well. That's so important. Mine are too, but mentally it's difficult. I need a couple of kids to keep my mind off of the women at yoga and other places! I'm only 47 and I wonder what kind of action I'm going to take to handle this the rest of my days. The combination of available time and desire may do me in someday. If I were to stop exercising, I'd have less energy, but more time!
Best Wishes,
Dave

Oh Dear!!! Dave my friend from Japan!!!
I am so happy to know from you!!!
I certainly know what you are talking about keeping your mind (and body) off the women!!! lol!!! that is part of the process. When you are obese and the attentionn of women is... let's say neutral you have no problems, but when the time came when I had to sent my wife and kids to live with my parents in law due to economic problems it certainly was a problem to keep myself out of problems with all the attention that I started to receive from women of all ages and conditions...
As I said there was the time in which I had to take decitions and to take my life in order. Now I am happy with the decitions taken and enjoying a peaceful life.
Be happy my friend. I hope you will do what is convinient for you... and your family.
As always my best wishes for you.
Alex

Good hearing from you, Alejandro ... (hola amigo!) .. I think u're our only member in Mexico that I've seen to date on the MF (we also have one regular member in Monterrey - a young gal - on the Texas forum, btw).
Your English and grammar are excellent, btw .. I take it you were born or went; to school here, possibly, and/or have dual citizenship?
Give our regards to Manuel Uribe, btw (if u're ever over Monterrey way) .. He is truly an inspiration to the heaviest of us dudes out there ..

Hey There my dark knight friend!!!
Well nope!!! I haven't lived in USA ever. Thank you for you kind words about my poor effort to communicate with all of you...
I have worked in american compannies for a while and I have learned a little bit about communication working in this environtment. I have traveled to USA very often but never for more than one week. (very often means that I have traveled to USA perhaps three times a year in the last few years)
I travel to Monterrey very often as I have to attend a monthly meeting in the corporate office that the company has in this industrial city. I will take your salute to Manuel if I ever have the chance... perhaps it will be more accurate to say that the chances will increase if you tell me who the gal is living there... lol!!!
Have a nice life my friend...
Warm Regards
Alex

It's nice to know your aquaintance Bob. Thanks for your kind words. My family and me had to go through really hard times. To be honest some days my wife and I looked at each other and asked: what are we going to have for dinner to night? there's no money left!!!
Those were hard days in which money was not at all abundant. I learned to be humble and to have faith in our Lord. Thanks to Him and our families my kids always had the most needed, they knew that money was short but they also knew that Male and me loved each other and never felt insecure or with lack of love. The reward was huge. When I less expected it my carrer started to run again with an opportunity as a high executive in an american company after five years without any opportunity.
Well I am here telling all of you the story. I can tell you my friend that life just starts after the surgery. You will experience that after all those pounds going off of you, you are more prepared to face life, but you will find out that the same old problems and some others are expecting you there to be resolved. Some times you have to fix you insecurities that started out your obesity problems and not having food as support it can be a nasty experience.
Have a nice life my friend. It all depends on us and our attitude in front of it. Have faith in God or what ever your belief of Him. He is always the only answer.
My respects to you

This is Mariana's (as in "Mariana's Trench"
) profile on OH:

It's really strange .. Since I was a teenager, I have dreamt on and off some nights that I would meet a beautiful Latina someday named "Maria", that would be my soulmate ..
I even took Spanish in high school and college (even won awards in it) back in my native Missouri, in hopes of meeting her some day.
"Mariana" looks so much like the gal in my dreams
(and notice the first part of her name is "Maria"
)
She's from a pretty wealthy family, I think, in Monterrey .. I remember our family even taking a business/Christmas vacation trip there in 1972 (when I was just 11) to see about possibly opening a branch of my dad's factory in Monterrey at the time (he eventually decided not to) ..
But alas, I don't think Mariana is the one for me, as she is like 25 years younger (she's 23) ..
I don't think that is an acceptable age difference, even by Mexican standards!
I guess I just need to keep looking ..
