Who let HER in the locker room?

Hey guys,  I saw this room and had to jump in here with my questions.  I was so excited to see a forum for the men.

I had a vsg on June 2nd 2008 and doing really well with it.  Now my son is wanting to get the vsg too.  He is 5'11" and weighs 385.  He was asking how well men do with the vsg so I though I would see if anyone over here has had it and was anywheres close to this weight could tell us any success stories.  Also did you have any complications with surgery being this high of a bmi?

Why don't you encourage him to come join us.

like any other WLS its a tool. If he works it he'll do fine. There a few of us men over at the VSG forum try there you won't get much help here

I had the VSG in Feb of 2007 so I will be 2 years post op next month. I am 5' 11 and had a starting weight of 284 and today weighed 202.  I consider the VSG to have been a great success.  All of my weight loss was in the first eight months and I try to exercise 5 or 6 days a week and consume 5000 kcal a week.  You can gain weight with the VSG.  I was a self pay and believe the money to have been well spent.

With that much weight to lose, I would highly recommend he look at getting "the full meal deal" --  DS, rather than just go half the way with a V.S.G.
