Food Boredom
Oh my God, seriously. Just over 3 months gone, 80lb's down, sick of the same food. I ate chicken for the 4th time this week last night. I looked at it and really had to force it down my throat. Anyone else experience food boredom? Typical weekday:
- Breakfast: nothing or a shake
- Lunch - 3oz can or 4oz packet of tuna (they come in tastey flavors)
- Dinner - some kind of chicken or some kind of fish or sometime eggs.
I'm in desperate need of some high protien, low cal, low fat ideas. I've cooked everything a dozen different ways to change the flavor. I even had sushimi one night (which seems to process way slower than typical food). Red meat seems to process slow too and doesn't chew as well.
The only treats I have are almonds. I've grown quite fond of the Bold Smokehouse & Jalapeno flavors.

on the weekends you should try eating different foods to see what you can tolerate. I wonder if you are getting enough calories in a day you need to make sure you get enough calores or you could be slowing your metabolism setting yourself up for a stall. i like a nice lean cut of pork now and then and some extra lean ground beef. treat yourself to a small wendys chilli now and then. also check out the receipe forum.

I added high quality nuts (Deluxe mix), egg whites, lots of beans (refried, barbecue, zesty, chick peas etc), sausage, and more fish. For a snack I added soy chips or trail mix (sunflower seeds, raisins).
The recipe forum has some amazing ideas that are pretty easy to make. A couple of my fav's are typhoon shrimp (I ripped it off from Ruby Tuesdays), and sausage bake (pasta and sausage with cheese). There are tons on that forum, and I also do a little web surfing to find high protein dishes.
Keep in mind the food boredom encourages you to go back to the old crap that got us where we were before the surgery. So don't settle for low quality foods to wake up your tastebuds. It'd as all about changing your behavior now while you have the tool helping you.

Dre, You should be slapped for skipping breakfast, in fact (SLAP).
Bold Smokehouse Almonds are covered in sugar. You can make better choices.
Eating will be a chore for the rest of your life, boreing boreing boreing. Add spices, you will feel more satisfied if it is spiced up drastically. I lived on chile and eggs from 3-6 months post op.
Fill your spice rack with all new spices including ginger, cayanne, chile powder, a good cajun spice and onion powder. Buy a jar of canned pepers either Jalepeno or pepercini's and add them to foods to add some zip.
Make your diet your job for the first year and stick to it you will never reget the year you give to yourself. Everytime you have an urg ask yourself if 6 months from now you will even remember how badly you needed it. Make decisions that you will be proud of in the future not because of a hunger pang right now.
I know you are eating fairly decent now, but you have to get in all of your meals so your body wont fall apart. I heard that if you dont get all your water and protien in that your pr*ck will fall right off. Now I don't know if that is true, but do you want to take that chance?

Hi,
I don't know if you cook or like to cook, but if you check out www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.com she has some great recipes. She is a lady who had gastric bypass and lost about 150 pounds. She lives out in california. We made these cheesesteak bites and my daughter, who is 9, liked them so much she went back for seconds.

You might tolerate chili with melted cheese.
Refried beans with cheese (also easy) I like spicy refried beans
String cheese (easy & high protein) Multiple varieties availible
Ham and cheese lunchable (apx 300 calories and 17 gms of protein)
