I would love to see you in action in person. Do you really do all of this stuff? I find it hard to believe that an attorney would have such a hard time with "protocol."
If it's really happening, anyway...your announcements to the group are one big way to get totally "cut off" from any romance, especially if you are the only guy in a group of women.
Just don't say anything about it, let it happen on it's own, without any announcements.

She went out front to take a smoke break .. Seems like a lot of the lookers in our building do the same (kinda sad to see that they smoke, though 
) Maybe I could put a cig in my mouth and join them, hit them up for a light, and do my best to fake being a fellow smoker ..
