I'm sure alot of you have heard about te high rate of suicide in the US Army. Anyway we had a safety stand down today ( I think it was Army wide not just Ft. Campbell). It was alot of classes on suicide prevention and they talked about resources that are available to help if you need help. Anyway if you know anyone no matter what ranch of service they are in call 1800 342 9647. Alot of us think that seeking help is "weak", it isnt. If one of your battle buddies is going thru some stuff you need to get the help.
Thanks for posting that info., Jaws ..
I've heard that of late, more and more civilian shrinks are being hired by the military to go overseas to counsel the troops there. My own counselor here got a very nice $ offer to leave his private practice and head over there (if you see someone walking around in Iraq or Afghanistan that looks and kinda talks like Jerry Springer, say "hi" for me, please
) .. Someone else told me that, for former military and those willing to enlist (as a warrant officer?), the military is currently offering shrinks a $400K sign-on bonus ...
Apparently things are still pretty rough over there, mentally and emotionally, despite the "quieter times" in the fighting ..
