Bob,
Holy crap, is that thing beautiful!!! Good luck with it and safe riding. I knew I shouldn't have bought that new Trek. It has 2 wheels like yours, is shinny like yours, but that is where it ends!!

Hi Bob,
I agree.  It's bad.

I've got a '04 Vulcan 1500 Classic.  My first bike since about 1982 when I had a Yamaha Enduro.
I'm looking forward to a HD some day.
I got a question for you - how long after surgery before you could ride again?  I'm use to going for day rides of 200 or 300 miles.  On a trip to Sturgis in 2007 we did 700+ per day.  So, how long after surgery before I'm back to the long rides?  (Surgery is 4/1).

Some days its just not worth waking up and chewing through the leather straps

Thanks Salt. I had an 04 Kawi 1500 Classic (green & white) before I got the Yamaha Venture tourer. Loved it - nice bikes!  As for riding after surgery, we actually rode up to Gatlinburg, TN about 4 1/2 weeks after my surgery. It was a four day stay and we logged about 700 miles total round trip.  I did OK, but probably pushed it a bit - got a little sore and really tired.  We had to make a lot of extra stops so I could rest a while.  I'd wait about 6 to 8 weeks if I had it to do over.   But be sure and consult with your Doc before riding  just to be safe.

Description of your 04 Kawi sounds like an exact match to what I'm riding now.  When I get to It, I'll post a picture and you can see if it looks like the one you had.

Hey Bama, she is purty! I hope to get a new one before to long. Have to pay off the wifes car first. My 99 Ultra is still getting by, has almost 93,000. Enjoy!

Thanks pan! I'm definitely lovin' her so far. This baby handles like a dream. I was really surprised at how much better she takes the twisties, and just how well she handles at slow speeds like in parking lots. The center of gravity is lower than my Venture was, which I guess is the reason it feels so much easier to handle.
