Let's share our stats!!!
I noticed on your profile page you listed some of your issues. I too have mental issues and I have to wonder how high the percentage of people with weight issues, both too big and too small, also have mental issues. I would imagine it would be a higher percentage.
I too am bipolar, actually I had professional testing and after numerous meetings and testing they determined I have add/adhd combined type, bipolar type 1, anxiety disorder, mania (short tempered, very short), cognitive disorder, and 2-3 other things that I would have to check the paperwork to remember. I currently take medication just for the adhd, adderallxr. I am sure, now 23 weeks out from surgery, that my mental state played a large role in my weight.
I was in lots of trouble with the law in my twenties, double digit misdemeanors a couple felony charges, etc... I just decided I wasn't going to be that person. I thought I could do it with the rest of my issues but I have not had much luck in controlling the adhd or the violent temper (always verbal never physical) so I am seeking help but not resorting to my old eating habits. I did/do not want to revert back to the old eating habits so I decided to get professional help with the disorders I cannot control on my own.
I hope things turn around for you, I know my losing the weight I have lost already has clanged my life, let alone the last 124 lbs. my surgeon says at my rate I should hit goal in July or august. So I hope.
