11 months yesterday!
Well fellas, yesterday marked 11 months since my WL surgery at Vandy. I am currently at 186 lbs.. That's 211 pounds down from my all time high of 397! I weighed 366 when I had my first consult, and the day of my surgery I weighed 333.
I now wear a size 34 pants and a size M shirt. I was wearing size 50-52 pants and 3X-4X shirts. This whole journey has been nothing less than amazing so far. I really can't believe what a difference this surgery has made in all aspects of my life - health (physical & mental), work, exercise - every part has been affected for the better!
I'll tell anyone who is considering this surgery that, for me, it was the best thing I ever did to regain my life. Now, as has been said a thousand times, it is not a "magic cure". Educate yourself about the different procedures and what is required before and after surger. To be successful requires dedication, determination, and commitment to following your program and nutrition plan, exercising regularly, and educating yourself about nutrition. But with the help of a WL "tool", and applying that dedication and commitment, you CAN be successful at taking your life back!

Way to go Bama!
We need to set up a date in the future, after school is out, on some weekend when as many WLS patients, regardless of surgery type, can get together at Rock City and go take pictures at Fat Man Squeeze.
Notice that I am using "Crimson Tide" maroon here?
How is the new bike?
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Helluva job BamaBob. I remember when you and me were both a coupla fatasses. Feels good to be (reasonably) thin. I can't imagine why anyone who was in the boat that you and I were in wouldn't go this route. Keep up the good work.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
Congrats, BamaBob!
You have been a motivation and inspiration to me as well. I am just about 3 months out and I am already in agreement with you that it is the best thing I could have done. In fact, you are impressive to me in how much you were able to lose before you even had surgery. In my case, diets never worked for more than 2-3 weeks at a time and I was within 20# of 400 (both above and below) for about 12 years.
Thanks for your positive outlook and the encouragement you provide to the rest of us.

p.s. Although it hurts my Nittany Lion heart, I'm using Bama red for you, too. :)
