OK I lease the land through the winter to my friend who is a cattle rancher there. If you are willing to pay market price on the hoof, I am sure that he will be glad to let us butcher one of his all organic, free, ranged steers. In the fall we hunt antelope and mule deer there, and occasionally I book a sage grouse hunt (I haven't allowed sage grouse hunting for quite a few years now). During hunting seasons there are plenty of rabbits and eve water foul to hunt as well.

I would jump at the chance to come and explore the area. But would families be welcome as well?

Terry,
I guess that's why I am asking for input. I have had families hunt at my camp before. The only problem I see is that there is limited sleeping room. My bunkhouse is a converted steel international shipping container and has 2 bunk beds and a bathroom. The main cabin can sleep about 6 on cots. So, unless someone wanted to bring their own camper I could not accommodate many families. I only set this place up for friends and family to hunt at originally.

Deman,
Stay tuned here. I still need feed back on what people would like. Types of activities, weekend or week, etc. Also I need an to know if anyone would be interested. I have never done this before. I obviously know how to set up for a week of hunting, and I have regular guides and cooks for that, but this is a new thing to me. Also, everyone, since I have no intention of doing this a a for profit, please understand that my resources to do this are limited and I do not want to get hung with a huge bill for anything.

I would say the eveyone would need to pay thier own way and all you are doing is offering a place to stay and help setting things up. That way you would not get "stuck" holding the bag.

It is very nice of you to offer this. I think it would be hard for me to get away for it this year however. I just took two weeks off for my surgery and still have a week of vacation planned at beach with the family this summer.

Terry,
The problem with just letting everyone bring their own food and supplies is that people who fly in would have a hard tome bringing supplies. I can stock the camp with supplies for 8 to 10 guys, I do it all the time for hunting season. last year I was out there for 10 weeks guiding hunts. As far as setting up camp, if someone wants to bring a camper, I would say that's cool but they would have to be able to get their camper to camp over some very rough terrain. This is 4x4 country. Very few campers can actually be towed or driven off road that far, over that terrain. I use to tent camp there but I no longer permit tent camping there. This is high prairie and the winds can gust so high that a tent can be destroyed in a few minutes. I won't chance the rare but strong storms that can blow through there.

I'M IN!!!  Would love to come out and rough it for a few days.  Did you have any idea on what time of year?  Are there places that rent ATV's. It would'nt be practical to bring mine out.

It is very nice of Nick to offer this to us. i can't imagine what a trip like this would run. I have to do surg first before I go all in.. I would go just because it looks relaxing and I have never been to WY.

I say do it for a long weekend first as a test run.  This way if you want to do it longer you know what you're in for.  Food, some of Greek food sounds good,  I have a lot of Greek and Crete Friends so I know whats up.  Breakfast and Dinner covered at camp and paid to you. Lunch and snacks covered by guests.

I think a WLS compatible menu is perfect too.

Horseback Riding would be good. Do you build a campfire out there or will that draw the Mountain Lions in. Is there any fishing in the area?

Was curious so I priced a flight from Orlando for Oct. 575 rt. into Casper. I know I could do better on that.
