A camp fire actually keeps the animals away. If the weather permits and it isn't too dry to be safe I make one each night, but since we stay in heated cabins I make sure they are out before we go to bed.
Casper airport is a small airport and there are very few direct flights into it. It usually is much cheaper to fly to Denver, can arrange for 4 to six guys to fly into Denver the same day, they can share the ride and rental. If I only have 3 or 4 guys flying in I will try to co-ordinate my arrival to match theirs and pick them up, since Denver is only 30 minutes out of my way on my way there.
I know it can cost around $600 to fly to Casper from round trip. I have booked airfare, round trip, to Denver for $185. That's a big difference!
As for time table I am thinking sometime late summer. Perhaps late August, or early September. Mid September begins Antelope rifle season.
