I am stoked that I am going camping this weekend with my 5 sons.  It wil be the first time I have been camping since surgery.  Last time I went camping I tried to kill myself on the quad and split my scalp open for 10 inches - I have a kicking scar to prove it - and I got to ride in 2 ambulances and a airplane to the trauma center (I wouldn't fit in the helicopter).  I weighed in at 425 last spring.

Today I weighed in at 277 - I expect to hit 275 before Friday and I will have lost 150 lbs since that last campout - I expect it will be more enjoyable.

I also rode my bike for an hour and 42 minutes today for a total of 30 miles

Dan,
Have fun, but then I know your will. Quad riding is much easier without the weight too. I know that first hand. Just getting on the quad is easier. You and your boys will always remember the camping trips together.

Its a great feeling to try things at a lighter weight isn't it? And now you have 2 ambulance rides and a helicopter ride to look forward to this year!! lol

And congrats on the 150 pounds - that is AMAZING!!

Great post.  Nice to know someone who has liberated himself of so many lbs.  Great inspiration.  5 sons + camping + weight loss = priceless

Thanks guys!  Gonna be great to get out - I plan on hiking this time with them - I haven't been hiking in years.

Next weekend I am going camping with my oldest 2 boys with their Boy Scout Troop.  You know, I earned my Eagle Scout, graduated high school and college (associates) with honors, but none of those accomplishments were more rewarding than getting this weight off.  I still have a little over 90lbs to go but I am totally encouraged that I can attain that by the end the of year.  I have kicked up my activity level and my weight loss this month exceeded last months.

Last time I went camping was at a remote camping spot that didn't have any electricity.  I had to carry in a huge marine battery so that I could have my CPAP machine going for the 4 days that we were camping.  I don't have plans for camping yet, but I can relate to your excitement and will hopefully share in that future Fart with you.  Have fun this time staying safe.

good luck and have a ton o fun!

I love to camp and am looking forward to doing so as I drop wieght. I have gotten off of almost all of my meds and that will be nice to not to have to haul a basket of drugs along, or the cpap machine. It will give us a wider range of camping options.

Again, good luck and have fun and take some pictures to post up
