Looking for any help I can find!

I am almost there with you. No spouse anymore but we split a long time ago. Can't pay my bills. ALmost foreclosed on but managed to almost catch it up. Except everytime I think I am there something else happens. Probably losing my car and then the job etc.

Oh and I have gained pretty much of weight back too. Hang on to your sanity.  I saw a shrink and a counselor. Shrink was disbarred so no drugs etc.

Counselor says I ought to go on disability but I am afraid to try.

  I tell people on here all the time - that ask about post-op divorce stats - that some of the studies we have seen posted on OH inthe past put it as high as 50% @ one year out ..   The biological, hormonal, emotional and sociological changes can be enormous after WLS ..  

  As many members have also pointed out, WLS can make a  previously strong marriage even stronger, or, conversely, a shaky marriage even shakier ..  

  Was your marriage having problems beforehand?   Do you think the divorce was attributable to your WLS, or totally unrelated and coincidental?   

  Good thing you are getting counseling ..   I really wish and hope that some day we will have a special sub-field of psychology and counseling tailored to WLSers, given our special cir****tances, needs and problems (perhaps called "Bariology"?) ..   

   In the meantime, think of this as a fresh start in life (and boy what a "fresh start"  ) ..   With your new and improved health, energy and looks, you have nowhere to go but up ...     Exude confidence, and you'll meet that new someone, maybe get a better new job or profession, and then eventually just put the past behind you ..
