Tomorrow is the BIG DAY

I have never been one to be nervous, but today seems to be the worst day of my life…

Knowing that tomorrow will either be the begining or the end of my life....

To top it off I got a call from my anestiologist asking me a whole bunch of questions the guy didn’t make me feel warm and fuzzy....

I know my Doc. staff is the best but it's up to that guy to make sure I wake up...

Is it me or has anyone ever had these feelings before?

Yes this is normal. It will pass. follow the plan and everthing will be fine .
I was so nervous the night before i did NOT sleep a wink .
I new there would be plenty of time for sleep later .LOL
And as far as the gas passer asking you questions, maybe he just wanted to get it right

Good health and best wishes

As I type this you are probably on and off the pot...cleaning out your system.  The night before my RNY I woke my wife up at about 3 am (didn't sleep at all the night before).  I asked her if I was doing the right thing.  She assured me I was (calmed my nerves).  I had thought about it for months, prayed about it, looked at it from all sides.  That settled it.  The next day it was done...haven't looked back.  Wish I had done it years ago.  Hope to see you on the losers bench.  Brian

Here's what you should do pre-op. Before you leave for the hospital, take a permanent, black marking pen and draw a line horizontally 3 inches below your belt line across your abdomen. The write on on that line, "Do not cut below this line".  Just kidding. Everyone is nervous before surgery. I was wondering if I should back out right up to the moment they put me under. I am glad I didn't. This has been the best thing I ever did for myself.

Sounds normal to me!  I felt the same way and if you didn't feel this way I would be worried.  It's major surgery and a big change in your life.  For me it was the best thing I have ever done and no regrets whatsoever.

Best of luck and hold on!

RNY is a big deal and if you didn't have at least 1 or 2 second thoughts its possible you didn't think it all the way through.  Just know you are doing the right thing.
