BMI calculators

Why can't I ride a bike?  At 340 lbs.. I don't want to break it.  There are bikes that will handle "Clydesdales", as cyclists call riders over 200 lbs, but I don't want to invest in it now. My RNY is two weeks away. I figure I'll spend the snowy season losing weight. Then in spring, I'll decide what bike to buy.

 I used to feel that way too. This is what I am riding. 2010 Trek 4300 Disc.  I am 6'3", 337lbs.  I was on it at 360 it's fine.  Frames are aluminum and have a lifetime warranty,  the wheels are double walled for strength.  Disc brakes stop on a nats ass....

Whatever you get don't buy a Walmart bike or that quality..

Thanks for the bike info. I really appreciate it. Most manufacturers don't list maximum weight capacities on bikes.  If I lived in Florida like you, I might invest now.

Hell I started out wanting a Kona Hoss, it is made for larger and heavier guys.. BUT it's 1200.00, I read that someone out there is 550 and riding it with no issue.

When you get ready to buy just ride a few brands.  Hell you might end up with a beach cruiser lol.. j/k

I can not wait for winter.. From Oct to May is all 70deg weather..  going to do some good riding then..
