will restuarants ever be worth it?

When I go out with my DW we only order one meal.  I always explain and have never had any problems.  If our son comes with us, I get more choice!

You can avoid the questions and the looks if you ask the waitress to bring the to-go box at the same time she brings the meal.  I fill the box with all the food that I should not eat and only leave 1 serving on my plate.  That solves the problem of overeating while talking, and stops the questions about your meal being good because your plate is clean.

I love eating a good steak for 3 meals in a row.

When I get to this stage, I just plan on ordering an appetizer as my main course.

lol, I take that home. Sometimes the appetizers aren't appetizing and you have to order an entree.

This is why I eat a lot more Sushi now.  I can be in and out for around 10.00. Or I go to a wine bar and order a Olive, cheese and meat plate.. also under 10.00.

Good theory but not always practical.  Have seen some appetizer menu items that are doable but most are of the fried variety.

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

When my wife and I go out we usually order one entree and share. Unless we cannot agree on what we want, then I order my own and ask for a togo box up front. Never get any questions.

Exactly.  I go out to dinner with the wife on Friday night and I have more than enough food to last me through the weekend.  You can easily get your moneys worth and justify spending $25+ for a plate of food.  You will never want to go to an all you can eat buffet ever again, definitely not worth paying $10 just for a salad.

I usually just ask for the take-home box but sometimes I add that I've had gastric bypass surgery.  Oftentimes, they'll ask how it worked and I just let them know that I've lost over 200 lbs.  I'm still morbidly obese but much healthier.  If you know me by my posts, you know that I often say too much.  That embarrasses my wife but she's getting used to me after 35 years.  I'm just like my 86 year old mother in that respect.
