Tailbone pain?!

My arse is killing me!  I think I've read on OH in the past that tailbone pain is common.  But hey, I still have at least 60 lb to lose.  I still have plenty of padding.  I bought a memory foam pillow to sit on when I do my exercise bike, but it's not helping.

Anyone else having this issue and what, if anything, is a solution?  It's REALLY uncomfortable.

Try a donut (an intertube like thing).

You might need anti-inflammatories to get it to settle down.

loose -- (adj)  not tight

Wish I had some advise for you... but, I too, am having the SAME pain!  I bought a new exercise bike right after my surgery and it KILLS me!  I have tried to put 2 pillows but, it still hurts.  If I find anything that helps me I will make sure to pass it on to ya!

It's a miserable pain.  I don't experience it other than when I'm doing my exercise bike.  Right now, that's the only exercise I'm able to do.  I'm having problems with a plantar spur on my foot, so walking is out of the question right now.   I sure hope we find something that works!

I've had tailbone pain for the last year (even before surgery). The only things I've found that help are 1) not sitting on it so much, which sucks cause I'm kinda lazy and 2) a funky square, flat pillow with a notch cut out of the back (similar to this).

I went to the doctor and he said there wasn't a lot he could do for me. He said his wife had tailbone pain and she took St. John's Wort and it helped her. I haven't tried it because I suck at remembering to take pills. He also suggested a chiropractor and/or accupuncture. I did the chiro thing for 4-5 visits, but it didn't really help much then I got laid off and couldn't afford it anymore. If I had the money I might try the chiropractor again... I'd even try the accupuncture. I just want it GONE. If you find anything that helps, pass it on! I will do the same. Good luck!

Does that pillow really help that much?  I've googled this and there is another pillow with a hole where the ****yx is so that there's no pressure there.  It was expensive.  This one is affordable.  If it doesn't work, not much $ is lost.

I use the pillow I mentioned with another regular pillow underneath it. It doesn't get rid of the pain, but it does make sitting MUCH more comfortable.

The only thing that's helped me is time. Oh, and sitting up straighter.

It does seem to relieve it somewhat when I sit up straighter, but on the exercise bike, it's hard to sit up straight.
