I hardly need to chew....why is that?
There have been a few times that food has gone down without too much chewing. I always think that I am gonna be in trouble and get something stuck. It never gets stuck. I can have chicken or even noodles go right down. :O(
What is up with that? Any advice is welcomed.
Are any of you in the same position? I'm only 2 1/2 months out. Dang!

I find I can eat faster now and with less chewing than I was able to a few months ago. It's a scary thing! I don't know why this is happening to you so soon-I'm 4 months further out than you. I would recommend just mindfully chewing and taking your time. Who knows, you may have just been lucky so far and one of these times you will be in major pain!
Noodles I could see, they're soft - a slider food, literally. But chicken? I would be so careful with that. I can barely eat chicken anymore and I tend to avoid it as much as possible.
I'm going to watch to see what advice some of the farther-outs recommend.
Good luck!

Hi Lisa Joy!
I like totally agree with Deb--if you're finding food goes down altogether too easily, be mindful as you eat to CHEW CHEW CHEW!
In fact--I've been told by a counselor that meals should be an occasion--set the table for an intimate meal and relax and SAVOUR each and every bite. BE MINDFUL of each morsel you eat! What's the magic number--chew each bite at least 30 times???
And be sure NOT to drink with your meals and not for 1 hour afterwards! (Do I sound like a schoolmarm?
)
And BTW--CONGRATS on those 50 lbs gone!!! WTG!!
I've found that doing the 5DPT REALLY helps you in listening to the pouch as it tells you when you're full! Like a RE-BIRTH!
And now that I'm done with my sermon
I'm gonna get off the computer. I spent all day at one, and I am no longer coherent. Good thing for spell check or you wouldn't be able to read this!
YOU'RE DOING A SUPER JOB!

Lucky you!!! BUT === if you chew fast you'll be hungrier faster too. Mealtime is really 1 1/2 hours. No drinking for 30 minutes, eat for 30 minutes, and 30 minutes for drinking again. So that is at least 4.5 hours a day you are really paying attention to your body and it's signals. Slowing down and taking your time also gets you into the habit of paying attention to your body's full signal to keep yourself in the range of measured food.
There was a time that I accidently swallowed 1/2 of a peanut and I remember panicking....I just sat and waited for the pain and the
. But it never happened. Then about a week later I got sooooo sick
just from a stupid little grape skin I didn't chew well enough that got stuck....So be careful!!!
See ya later -- marching to the iron board!!!! Have to catch up.....

I will do what you all said. I love the advice...great reminders! I'm good about the drinking, but I will slow down and make meal time a special occasion. Now that I am almost done with work for this school year, I will have the time tofocus on this important task, No excuses for needed to eat fast cause my first graders will be coming in in 20 minutes and I have copies to make. :O)
I have to tell you that I am so touched by the responses that you have taken the time out to give me. I really really appreciate you wisdom!!!
