I'm home!
I got home yesterday afternoon! I feel so much better being at home, and can't tell you how good it felt to sleep in my own bed again. I swear, the backache I have from the operating table and hospital bed are worse than the incisional pain!
Things are going well-- got my 'adaptive equipment' and I am good to go. Getting all the fluid in is a challenge so it's sip, sip all day long. I have my follow up appointment tomorrow to get staples out, and perhaps the diet will progress to pureed then, too.
Off to take another round of fluids and meds-- can't take them all at once

Glad to hear your home and doing well. I can relate to the back pain. I had no pain other than the back pain and pain on the left side. Found out from my Doc that the pain in the left side was from the heavy artillery they used. Keep sipping and walking and yes you really can't sleep if you want to get everything in. LOL Keep posting your progress and welcome to the losers bench!
