TODAY: 6-month surgiversary!!
Hey family!! Well, today is my 6-month surgiversary! I can't even believe it! The time has gone by so fast!
Stats:
--Down 73lbs
--Pants: From a size 24 to a size 14/16
--Shirt: From a size 2XL to a size 12/14
--Lost a lot of inches! (have yet to calculate the total)
--And as of yesterday, my BMI is in the 30s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's a list of WOW moments in the past 6 months:
--Can cross my legs
--Do not get winded when I walk up stairs
--Haven't sprained my ankle in 6 months
--Got a chance to be on-air as opposed to hiding behind the camera
--Wore a dress!
--Can wear a small heal without too much pain!
--Fit easily in airplane seats/amusement park rides
--My rings fit again
--Have learned to like my legs for the first time ever!
--Working on a positive body image and gaining my self-worth!
There are more...but that's enough for now. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my tool and am so happy that I didn't give into the fears that I had before surgery (and I had A LOT).
I had always been the one who never lost much (20lbs max) and gained it all back... hit 300lbs and felt helpless... and then the band came into my life... and gave me my life BACK.
Thank you all for your support and boy would it be nice to lose another 70lbs in the next 6 months! hehe... but I'll take whatever I get!
I am off to work right now...but will post a before/after photo once I get a new "after" taken. :-)

I don't have to rant & rave about how wonderful you are, I'm HOPING you know how much I love you, how PROUD I am of you for your weight loss AND for your career accomplishments! I WILL say again tho, you are a REMARKABLE young woman, and I feel honored to have you for my (YOUNG) friend!!!
Besides. You are the reason my girls are up where they belong again.
Just sayin'....

Elena -
Congratulations! It was very nice meeting everyone last night at my first support group meeting.
You are a very striking young woman and when you made the comment that one of your biggest challenges was seeing the losses and having a positive body image I was surprised! You carry yourself with much confidence - I would never have guessed your struggles.
You look fahbulous!
