I'm home.
My dad brought me home about 2 hours ago. I'm feeling pretty good. Haven't really taken much pain medicine. My biggest issue is gas. How long does that last?
I'm walking back and forth in my apartment since it's too cold for me to walk tonight. I find my rocking chair helps with the gas as well.
I am not as freaked out as I was the first day which is good. The first afternoon was rough, it took a long time for them to get my pain under control but after that, things have gone very well.
Trying to get my water in but I have so much gas that every time I take a sip, it starts things moving for a while.
I'm so glad to be back home with my kitties.
Oh and I just had to test it out, yes I am up 10 pounds from the morning I went in. I know it's water from the surgery and IV.
I'm just shocked that I feel pretty good. My surgeon said though that to expect some major fatigue coming up from all the connections healing but that my pain would likely be minimal.
I am hoping to be at coffee on Saturday. Is it in Eagan this week?
Thanks to you all for being so supportive in my journey to this point. It seemed like it would never happen.

Kristy, don't be afraid of the gas pains. They are annoying and they can hurt but I've definitely had worse. I took some Gas-Ex. I didn't ask if I could take it but I can't imagine it will hurt. Though I"m sure someone will enlighten me if I'm not supposed to be taking it.
I've found my rocking chair helps a lot for the gas pain as well. And I had seen this yoga move a long time ago that they recommend to pregnant women to move gas out. That is helping too. Basically kneel with your forehead (or your forearms) touching the floor. Really, your butt is up in the air so maybe not the most attractive position LOL but it has helped me in the past too when I"ve had gas issues.

Welcome to the Loser's Bench!!!
I'm glad things went well for you at the U and you are home safe and sound with your kitties. There is something about sleeping at your own place that always helps!! As for the gas, It bothered me the first 2 - 3 days, but like you said, worse things have happened!!
Cffee this week is at WSP- it would be GREAT to see you, but don't rush yourself. There is also the craft party on Sunday- a little later in the day :-)
Feel free to give me a call if you need anything!

Yeah Anna! Glad to see that you are home and on the road to healing! I had the gas as well, but gas ex really helped. Walking did too. Maybe you could go to the mall or target and get some walking in. There is also a coffee opposite Eagan in Burnsville. It is at the Panera on the north side of the Burnsville Center.
Sip and walk, you have heard that a hundred times!! Hugs!
