So my boyfriend really likes to go to Olive Garden, do any of you go there and if  you do what do you order, I am only one month out but when I can eat somewhat regular food i don't want to say I can't go there with him.

Go on-line and pull up Olive Gardens Menu.  I am also 1 month post op and I am still on a puree diet. I had  some friends who wanted to go to Chili's, I pulled up their menu online found out their soup selection then I called found out if they could blend it for me.  they were very polite no big scene, It was a simple request but I called ahead so I would not be embarrased.  They even blended some strawberries.  I had a wonderful time and I'm sure you will to.

I have been there once since surgery. When I was there I got the chicken ceasar salad with the dressing on the side. I mainly ate the chicken.

Good Luck to you!

Some people can eat anything with no problems.   I've had two surgerys and am one of those types.  I LOVE Olive Garden.  If you are just out of surgery then of course you must be careful in your food choices, but eventually you will not be restricted in choices.

Having said that, the quantity of what you can eat is greatly reduced.  That is why they invented to go boxes.

Another thing is that you may discover that certain foods are no longer desirable...such as pasta.  Also, some people do struggle with certain types of food...such as pasta or rice or bread, or whatever.

The one type of restarrant I cannot visit anymore is buffets.  I think most people here would agree.

I don't know that going there 1 month out is the best place.  I am nearly a year out and I have a hard time finding things to eat there.  I usually just stick to their soup or salad.  Give your self some time I think your boyfriend can support you by going to a place that would be easier for you to find something to eat.  in 3 or 4 months you could probably try it.

I did to go to Olive garden at about 1 month out-- I ordered soup and and an order of meatballs- only ate one meatball, and took the rest home.

Roger and I loved going there as well - I used to get the soup and salad...  usually fajoli or I would eat a fish dish... their grilled tilapia is wonderful  :)  Also have eaten the 4 cheese appetiser with celery instead of bread.  yeah, we ate there a lot!  lol

I also DO like buffets... I can grab a bit of this and a bit of that and not worry there is nothing for me to eat  :)  It's not cost effective but I can have a variety of foods that I otherwise wouldn't.

Good luck!

The potato soup is totally awesome. If you cannot eat the sausage bits, then just go for the potatoes and broth. It worked great for me and was the first place I ate out at. Still today (18 months out) that is what I order. But now I can eat the sausage in it.
