BCBS of MN 6 month diet
Hi everyone -
I just wanted to post a note about the BCBS of MN 6 month diet. As of 2/16/09 it is six consequtive visits, not 6 month duration....yeah! That means as of this coming monday (my 6th visit) I am done!

I wish this were true...here is the wording from that link....I think it means it has to take 6-months of time. What do you think?
"...The medically-supervised weight loss attempt(s) must include six (6) monthly medical visits over six (6) consecutive months with all visits under the direction of a medical doctor ..."
The wording has changed from :
...must have been at least 6 months in duration....
to:
...six monthly medical visits over six consecutive months.....
To me, that means it went from six months, 180 days, 7 visits....to six visits, which is really five months duration.
In any case, we are going to try to file as of 2/16 and see what happens.

I work for bluecross of mn and had to go thru it myself. It is 6 visits with each visit 30 days apart. Hope this helps
Thanks for the info - I am curious - so what is changing as of 2/16? Are they just clarifying that they want six consequtive months? The current policy leads me to think it is 7 visits, but obviously they don't actually mean that if you and one of the pp's got approved after 6.
