ambien??????

Do any of you guys take ambien?  My Dr. prescribed it for me to help me sleep because lately I can't sleep worth a hoot.  I took it for the first time on thursday night beings I didn't have any daycare kids staying here and I felt fine the next day went out to eat with one of my daycare girls and half way through breakfast got sick ran to the bathroom to poop SORRY TMI we left right away and went straight home and barely made it in the door.  Needless to say I have lost 7lbs in 1 1/2 days.  I feel like major crap.  The flue ha**** hard in this house and this is the first I ever have gotten it.  Actually since surgery this is the first time I have gotten sick.  I thought maybe it was the ambien but the more I think about it I have the flue........ I sleep alot, beech alot, poop alot ect.......  Anyways I don't know where I was going with this.  Let me know your feedback on ambien????????????
I know I  haven't been on here lately but with everything going on in my life I don't feel I would be any help to you guys.  When things start to calm down and I start to feel better and not so depressed I will be back on.   Until then I  wish all of you guys the best of luck and success.......

I took Ambien a few times a week before surgery and find since surgery, it doesn't work very well for me. I don't stay asleep like I used to.  I never had any side effects.  It's important to get sleep, and it makes sense with all the stress you've been dealing with and losing your dad that it would be hard to fall asleep.  Sending a hug your way.

I just take a tylenol pm.  I used to take amatryptalin, but now I can just take the tylenol pm and one does me pretty good.

Just started Ambien last month-- and LOVE IT!!  I either can't get to sleep, or get to sleep and then wake up at 3 am.  One little pill, and I sleep great!  If I don't take it before sleep, and wake up in the wee hrs of the morning, I take half a tablet and get right back to sleep.   No side effects.

Hope you are doing ok. I tried the Ambien and it made me do wierd things in my sleep. Like get up and eat and not remember, try on clothes in the middle of the night. Really strange stuff, also had some wierd dreams. Jus be careful on it.

Marsha.....be very careful of that drug. There are side effects that are just awful. I took it and started sleepwalking. Walking into things and eating during the night not even remembering it!!
I had  hallucinations and then seizure's. My daughter thought I was having a stroke and so did the paramedics. I was totally out of control. I had no memory of what I was doing or saying at all. I was in the hospital and they ran all kinds of tests. It scared my family to death. It was determined it was the Ambein. I researched it and found out other people have driven cars and done many other things they weren't aware of....scary!!!

I love you.....I am concerned. Yes, it works wonders but if you notice changes stop taking it right away!!

Ambein affects people very differently.  I actually loved it because it feel asleep quick and didn't wake up all groggy, but it also made me feel "drunk" I would do things in my sleep like clean (I'd wake up the next morning to a very clean bathroom) or I'd do a lot of writing in my sleep.  I wrote 10 pages about proteins one night; I also created this elbroate family tree that I have no memory doing....  This drunk feeling would only last about 1/2 hour right before I'd fall asleep; I felt like this weird burst of energy like I could do anything.   I'd only kind of remember what I did the night before but not really and my husband would tell me things I said or did and that I had no memory of.  I also built up a quick tolerance to it and needed more each time to  fall asleep so my doctor took me off of it. Just make sure your careful and if you notice doing things in your sleep that you might want to let your doctor know so they can get you on another medicine that could be a little safer.

I know two people who have committed suicide while on it.  Be VERY careful.  I would suggest asking for something else.
