I had Medica at the time of my surgery, so I'm not sure this will apply to you, but from the day they submitted to the day I got my approval was about 10 days. And from that point to surgery? About 5 more weeks.

If it was submitted to insurance - you could call and check the "status" with BCBS maybe by next monday - usually they make the decisions pretty quickly.
As far as surgery - it really depends on how far your surgeon is booked out.
