Update on me
I've been hearing from a few people who were a bit concerned that I kind of disappeared. So I thought I'd post an update for anyone who was interested.
I'm 3 months out now. Down rougly 81 pounds (including preop weight loss). I bought (and wore) my first extra-large tops this week which was awesome. (Check out the Eagan Walmart for some awesome clearance deals!) Still frustrated that the size of my butt and belly are shrinking at a lot slower pace. I'm basically down to an 18 now. I am so looking forward to being a 16 and not having to shop only the plus size departments. I bought my first pair of knee-high boots in years (yay they fit my calves.) Also I went down a cup size so I need to do some serious bra shopping.
I met another one of my goals. I wanted to be able to kneel with my butt actually resting on my heels. And this weekend I found out I can do that! No more butt a few inches above my heels due to the size of my thighs.
I was suffering through a recurrence of depression but my meds have been tweaked and although I'm not feeling a lot better, at least I'm not going any lower. I was so tired with the depression I wasn't getting to the gym much. Now I'm back and remembering how good it feels.
I started dating a very nice man from Brooklyn Center. It's still new so we're still in that "I want to be with you all the time" phase. He does have a 19 month old son and he has joint custody so as a non-parent, I can't believe how much energy one little person can have. I'm having some self-esteem issues...I still feel like I'm nearly 300 lbs in my head somedays. Luckily he is the most understanding man I've ever met. He said that sporadic bouts of insecurity are about the smallest problem I could have at my age and that he is willing to deal with it because he's been looking for a girl like me for a long time and had almost given up hope that he'd find her. Awww.
Work is work but we found out we won't be having any layoffs in my department so I can relax a bit.
I do miss you all. And I'll be back on the boards more often and at coffee very soon.
Anna
PS- Happy to share the size 24 jeans you gave me are just too big now.:-) I bought the same style in 22 though and love them!

Congratulations on all of thepositive changes in your life!! You are doing absolutely fabulously. I especially like how you are taking the bull by the horns in terms of your depression and love life!!
If I didn't like you so much I would be horribly jealous of your successes with your tool- but I also know how hard you have worked to get there. Keep up the hard work and enjoy this new part of your journey!!
See you so0n,
Reenie
How amazing - 81 pounds... I cannot even fathom that... I can't remember how much you lost pre-surgery, but wasn't it around 20+ pounds?
Lots of cool things happening in your life.. I am so glad you found a nice guy that can be supportive of you.
CONGRATULATIONS!
