Liquid diet HELL
I am on day 2 of the liquid diet. I am at a construction site in Galva, IL with about 200 men - haven't seen another woman yet.
At this weight, construction sites are about the only place I get gawked at.
No clean port a potties and I am peeing constantly. Hungry within an hour of my slim fast. Get dizzy every time I stand up, and between the liquid diet and the Atenolol they put me on I get winded just walking 100 yards! To top it all off I have to sit there a watch the guys eat donuts, reuben sandwiches, etc., while I order a diet coke and eat the broth off some chicken noodle soup.
I know I am whining, and I know it is only 8 more days, but I knew you guys would understand.
Thanks for listening!

Wow, whodathunk being around 200 men on a construction site would be so miserable? On my liquid diet I had an outdoor job where I had to burn alot of calories. I had a chit chat with my nut about some help. She told me I could eat egg whites and they would not jeapordize my LD. I probably went through about 3 dozen egg whites (sprinkled with spices) and it did indeed get old but it also got me through and my liver was just right for surgery. I'm not saying to you to eat egg whites, but certainly run the idea past your NUT to see if that could help.
If it is approved, cut the yolks out before you "pack your lunch".
The LD is hell for anyone, but it does get better and the goal at the end of the road makes it bearable and totally worth it. Hang in there!!!!!! Get your mind on the prize!!!!
Good luck

I know how you feel about the LD. I'm just starting my second week of the LD before my surgery. The first three days were hell! I had a constant headache those days. My LD consisted of 3 Boosts a day, then water, Diet Lipton Green Tea, broth, and SF popscicles. The last few days have not been that bad, but I still get the cravings for food, especially now that it's gotten nice out and people are grillling. But I want this surgery and I know I can stick to it. My will power is not that strong, and I can tell you, if I can stick to this and make it work, you sure can to. I know it's hard when the guys around you are eating food, but I just find something else to do, whether it's go do a different room or go for a walk. You can do this. I know you can. :)
Hang in there! It does get easier as you go along. It takes a few days for your system to adjust and your stomach to shrink up a bit. If worse comes to worse, check with your nutritionist and see if you can add another slim fast or some CIB or something. Avoid tv commercials and magazines -- too much food to watch. One day soon, those guys will be choking on those reuben sandwiches as they watch your new ******y self walking around that site.
Oh man, here was day 1 of my liquid diet today:
BF
8oz. vanilla protein shake
6 oz. oj
SNACK
can of V8
LUNCH
1/4 c. protein-fortified pudding
6 oz. protein chicken broth
diet soda
DINNER
1/4 c. sugar free jello
1 sugar free applesauce cup
8 oz. chocolate protein shake
SNACK
1/4 c. protein fortified pudding.
This goes on for two weeks. If I coulda picked my own food, I woulda been happier but I had to pay $108 for a prepackaged diet. I go to pureed foods the day after surgery and I gotta say, I'm gonna be ECSTATIC to eat pureed food!!!

YOU CAN DO IT, CHICKIE BABY!!!
The LD is but a small hiccup on your way to a smaller, healthier you! I bet you'll be kicking that Atenolol to the curb before ya know it!! And if you get your mind in the right place, the LD is really very freeing! Just kiss solid food BUH-BYE for a while, detox your bod, get it in primo condition for your surgeon, and before you know it, you'll be on the loser's bench!!!
It's all about attitude, Amelia. Consider yourself to be sticking it to all those nasty fat cells you hate so much. YAY YOU!!!!

The first few days are the hardest...it will get easier as time goes on and the reward is well worth it. Keep up the good work, remember WHY you are doing this....I see you holding a little person in your pic....Maybe you need to carry a pic with you of her/him (can't see it clearly) and keep looking at it for your WHY!!!
Good luck...the best is yet to come!
