Preventing hair loss
You won't be bald - but there's really nothing you can do. Some people suggest taking biotin. It'**** or miss whether it will actually do anything. Hair loss starts at about 3 months out and can last up to 8-12 months out. Make sure you get enough protein in - that's about all you can do. Just one of those things you need to deal with after WLS. Good luck to you!
Please spay and neuter your pets!

Prior to surgery I was a wreck about losing hair and sure enough I did. It was to me a noticeable loss but not to the rest of the world. Is there anything you can not. I do not believe so. But, I do suggest the biotin as that helps with the regrowth of hair and also making sure you get in your vitamins and protien in. Don't worry is just a part of the process and does not last forever and you won't go bald. It was not as big of a deal as I had worried about. For me it lasted about 3-4 months and have not had issues since then.

My surgeon and dietitian both said that hair loss is almost always directly related to protein intake. They said during the most rapid weight loss phase (first 6 mons) is when most people lose hair if they do. Make sure you're getting your protein in. Make shakes, add xtra protein to anything you can.. meals, pudding, purees, anything you can sprinkle the protein powder on helps..
Again I'm pre-surgery and just really investing in the diet research and asking as many questions as i can to my dietitian..
