Anyone have"a touch of pnemonia infiltrate your lungs" post op?  Wasnt expecting this one and just want a few encouraging words.  Yesterday was hell but after being treated with steroids and antibiotics, I am feeling better, just wondering how I can get out of this one fast and back on track.  Thanks

Did you by chance take home from the hospital that funny breathing thingy with the floating disc or balls in it? If so use it to do deep breathing exercises. I know these are dumb little machines but they work! I was having issues in the hospital and after getting home, used it a lot and it worked wonderfully.
Best of luck and feel better!

I  use the spirometer or whatever its called religiously every hour in hospital and less so after I got home but am just doing as many clear deep breaths as I can.  I would definitely say use that thing to anyone having any surgery.   Thanks for your thoughts and wishes.  Back to sleep for me.

I'm so sorry!  I had bronchitis the week prior to surgery and still had a lot of phlegm left in there after surgery and have been coughing it up ever since I got home (ouch!)  I had surgery on the 31st.  They put me in a room with an elderly woman who had pneumonia and I thought 'Oh GREAT!!' I'm hoping I'll be okay.

Sending get well vibes to you!!! ~~~~~ :)

Thanks for the well wishes and all.  I am doing better and am just planning on laying low this week.  They put me on antibiotics and steroids and wow, prednisone although not good for a long duration is such a miracle drug, it helped very quickly once I got on that.  Just have to get my babies back to health as they too came down with a respitory infection this weekend.  It never stops I guess and I feel incredibly guilty that I am not 100% to be with them.  Wish I could have made it MG coffee.  Amelia, if you  read this, I am so happy you made it so soon after surgery, u must be feeling awesome!

Hey Sandy - glad to hear you are feeling better!  Get some rest and hopefully you and your little ones will be better in no time!

I am actually feeling pretty darn good - took a 2 mile walk around the neighborhood today.  A little much, but I am ok.  It was f*#% cold and I didn't wear a hat,, so stupid me!
