Amelia, I am SO SORRY for your family's loss - it's pretty hard to swallow, losing someone with no known health problems so suddenly like that. 

I lost my father after an extended illness, and I've often wondered which scenario is "better" - truth is, death sucks no matter what.  I think all we can do is try to find some measure of peace, no matter what the cir****tances.  With your FIL, I hope you can find your peace in knowing that he didn't suffer through a prolonged illness.  Doesn't lessen the shock you are all feeling right now, but time will help bring about happy memories.

And don't worry about "being such a bummer".  We are your new OH family.  Share, vent, bum all you need to.  We're here for you.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.  All I can say from experience of losing both of my parents, it will take time to heal and everyone does it differently.  Never feel you are alone as we are all here to help.

Amelia, It's so hard to see someone you love, like your Husband sad and devastated.  I feel for you and hope that you will be strong for him and your family.  Grandpa's are an important part of every family.  They mean so much to each and every person in the family.  Pull out your pictures and bring all the good memories to light.  It will help him and you get through this week.

Thanks you guys.  It has been a tough couple of days - Leo had a very strong bond with everyone in the family and we will miss him greatly.  I am most worried about my MIL as they were constant companions - Thursday would have been their 43rd wedding anniversary.

I appreciate all the kind words and prayers.  It is so nice to have such a supportive group of people on my side!
