I'm so weak!! I started the LD on Monday and things have been going pretty well, according to my scale I'm down 6.6 pounds. Then, today, it's my husband's birthday and we order pizza for supper and I ate 4 squares. WAAAHHH! I just needed to eat something that I could chew and taste! I have resolved not to do it again, but I wanted to 'confess.'
I can do this, I can do this, I can do this - AND SO CAN YOU!!
Therese
You are one brave lady and ya know what good for you for "confessing" however, like I say at the bottom of my post failure is not falling off the wagon it's failing to get back on. So hop back on the next meal, DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT beat yourself up and self-sabatoge yourself. Maybe tomorrow or the next day go for a walk and spend the whole time talking to yourself about why you are worth it to keep going! We are hear for you - I slipped a couple of times on the LD before surgery and I got right back on track instead of throwing in the towel. It's okay and you'll be fine!

I think the LD is the hardest part of the whole thing, including recovering from the surgery!! You're going to really gain confidence when you get back on the LD and do what you need to do to prepare for the surgery.
Keep up the good work - you can do this!
Start: 420 | Day of Surgery: 381 | Current: 223 | Goal: 199 Milestones:
100+ pounds lost
Under 250 pounds (first time in decades)
Weigh less than husband for first time

Don't feel bad! I'm so happy you had the courage to admit it! Most of us wouldn't even admit to that, it's like admitting to failure. Don't get too upset with yourself. The LD is a very hard process. Just bru**** off and move on. I found that the process was a lot easier when I kept myself busy, so that might help. You will do fine. Just do your best to stick to it.
I did not have to do a LD and so therefore, I cannot imagine how difficult this is for you & all the others that had to endure it.
I agree 100% with Sal. You admitted, now get back on track and keep going. Do not self-sabotage like the old diet mentality. This is your new journey and nothing like you've ever done before, so try to re-frame and move forward.
Do remember one thing over the next week, though. If you eat and the surgeon starts your surgery and there is food in the hopper so to say, he/she may close you back up because of this. It's been known to happen, so do stay the course. You definitely don't want that setback!
Praying for your strength!

Girl.. look at it this way.. you only ate 4 squares! I can plow down 1/2 or 2/3 of a pizza if I wanted to in the past (won't allow myself to now).. SO YOU GO GIRL!
You recognized you did an oops and just hop right back on that wagon like the other girls said and start at it again...
Have you read the posts on here about all the xtra things you can add to your shakes to make them vary more in taste?
Just move past this and don't do it again because the doc will know when surgery time comes.
I agree with the others - you are only human and had a weak moment. You can't allow it to happen again, though, so consider this your one "pass" LOL.
One thing that really spoke to me when I was complaining about "liquid diet HELL" was when someone said "think about how you want the surgery to go for you. Do you even want the remote possibility of it being an open procedure?" Wow, that really put it into perspective. The LD is not for the surgeon's benefit - they can do it open or lap, but for your benefit.
Make sure you are getting enough protein and filling up with sf popsicles, broth, sf jello, etc when you are feeling vulnerable. Try not to think about what you are missing - put yourself in a "zone", where nothing matters but getting to the place you need to be for surgery.
Good luck - you can do it!
