I've heard that if Dr. Lederer smells smoke on your breath he will cancel your surgery. He is very adamate about that. If you are not a smoker, I wouldn't worry about it. He does not conduct a nicotine test on his patients. If you are concerned, tell him your situation. He is fair.
He says he cancels, but I don't know for sure if he has ever followed through. Maybe if someone here can attest to this... I think he indeed wants to scare the bjebbies out of the smokers, and wants to know that they are serious enough to quit before having to deal with surgery.
