Is this normal?
So, I am happy my stomach is moving after anesthesia. I am 4 days post op lap band and my stomach/gut/intestines are SOOO loud! I haven't heard a noise like that come from my stomach ever! I dont know if it is the left over CO2 getting out of my system? or the liquids moving through my system? or if this is going to be the normal sound that comes from my stomach? It is rather embarassing, I havent' had to go out in public yet, or go to work yet, but dang, I don't be able to hide that noise! I am passing some gas and some BM...what i can from being on a liquid diet, but I hope this resolves maybe with more solid foods? Anyone else experience the thunder from down under? Does it resolve? Thanks for your input!
Hey Brian, congratulations and welcome.
The noises and gas are normal, they pump in to expand and make room for the surgeon to see everything. Walking will help it subside faster. My stomach still makes funny noises (I'm RNY) all the time when I least expect it and of course when I'm in a quiet room in an important meeting. Good luck to you.
