I feel so impatient!
Through the whole process iv felt completely fine about waiting. Now I'm sitting her had the last of my medically monitored weight loss last Friday and it went into insurance for approval yesterday. I have never felt so impatient about something in my life! I think I'm just so ready for the process to be over and finally get to "enjoy" what iv been working so hard for. Anyone else have BCBS MN for insurance? How long did it take to get approved?
I'm waiting for approval now too from Health Partners.. and I'm telling ya, I'm going completely NUTZO waiting!!!

I was told by my insurance that they have 2 weeks to make a determination.. How fabulous. i suggest that you call in a week if you haven't heard anything.. Mine went to insurance this past Friday so I'm going to call on Friday again and double check the process. You may also want to call to verify they recieved the claim. I was called and told by my WLS office last Tuesday that they faxed it.. but on Friday when I called insurance, they still didn't have it in their system.. they had to refax it. So make sure they got it to even start the approval!

Use this time for some serious self-reflection. As the old saying goes they operate on our tummy not our head. My biggest struggle so far has been in my head. We really don't realize what a large no pun intended affect our weight had on our mental health. Start seeing someone your insurance will cover. You will be glad you did! That's truly the best advice I can give any pre-op. I thought therapy was for people who were sick - boy was I wrong! I think everyone can benefit from talking to someone who is unbiased and ready to listen and validate your feelings and then help you work them out to something positive!
It's worth the wait - hang in there! - Sal

I have BCBS of MN and it took 7 business days to get approval. There was a slight delay because of a small issue with the paperwork, so it probably would have been 5 or 6 days.
I know how you feel, though. I called every single day and asked nicely for the status. They nicely told me that it was still being processed and that they typically take 2 weeks. I nicely said thank you and then called back the next day.
It will be here before you know it - I was very anxious and impatient too and as of tomorrow I am 6 weeks out already. It flies by!

Well I'm glad there are some others here who can be waiting with me
I actually did start seeing a therapist already because I know a lot of it has to do with whats going on in your head and they have already begun to help me with why and staying positive. I just feel like with the 2 weeks before surgery its going to be so stressful have the pre op physical and ultrasound and chest x-ray, EKG, liquid diet training, and the list goes on but ill stop there lol. I think I'm just a little too excited (if that's possible).
