I have a date!!!!

YAAAHOOO!!!  Thanks Darla.  Now do I get two Darla hugs tomorrow?  One for the approval and one for the surgery date?  Thanks for all your encouragement along the way.  I keep thinking about how you said you made a commitment to the support groups and how that has helped you.  I may have to do the same thing.  No one up hear that I know has had this surgery so I'm gonna have to keep making my trips to the cities for support groups and hang out here on the board.

I notice we have the same surgeon... Dr. Johnson. I am wondering, since I have my surigical appointment and meeting with him next Tuesday and would like to know if they gave you your surgery date AT the meeting with the surgeon. If so, I could be RIGHT BEHIND YOU!!!!

Hope the time flies by! Is he having you do a liquid diet at all? Do you know if he'll use a drain afterwards?

Thanks Shannon.  I really like Dr Johnson and he is so reassuring, soft spoken, and kind.  He did not have me do any liquid diet (except the day before surgery) just asked that I continue to try to lose weight this next 12 days.  I got my surgery date right during the appointment.  They asked me how soon I wanted surgery and I said as soon as they could.  I was VERY surprised by the two week date because my nurse said not to expect a date until into Nov.  He did not mention a drain.  So you may be just a week or so right behind me!  We'll have to compare notes.

Thanks Stephanie.  Busy...not the word to describe all I'm doing in the next few weeks!!  Crazy comes to mind but I'm very excited and being busy will keep my nerves in check!!

Congrats, Donna!  I just passed my 3 week mark and am feeling fabulous.  You'll love the staff at the hospital and the care there is awesome.  I go to the support meetings in Cambridge on the 4th Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at the clinic there.  Would love to see you at the November meeting!!
