Hello all, I am new to this forum!

Hello, I have only posted on the main forum. Didn't even know about this one til today.  I am waiting for consult with Dr. Hornbostel. I have every thing done that needed done up to that point. My consult date is Sept.19th(long time huh). I just wanted some input from people who have had Dr. Hornbostel for thier Dr. Did you like him, was he good at what he does, how long did it take you to get to see him? I went to seminar on April3rd, got every thing in less than a month. Now have to wait until Sept. Bummer!!!  Are you all happy with your surgery and would do it again. Needing some reinsurance today.  Glad to meet you all and take care, tammy  

Tammy , another tammy huh? that is great. I had Dr. Hornbostel for my surgery and I couldnt be happier. Several people tried to talk me out of surgery saying i was too old and lots of things but when i met Dr. H. That was one of the questions i ask him and he said it didnt make any difference that i should be just fine and i have been. I am 5'3" tall and was 262 before surgery and now weigh 179. I am wearing size 10/12s before i was wearing 22/24s/ so i am about half my old size and feel like I am at least 20 years younger. I am 66 now was 65 when i had surgery. Would i do it again? You bet in a heartbeat and would do it once a year if it was necessary.  dont know what all you have wrong with you right now but just know that all of it can only get better after your surgery and some of it may just go entirely away. I was on 2 kinds of blood pressure meds and a water pill now i take none of that. I do take a lot of vits an mineral supplements. sure a different life that is for sure but it is so worth it.  Welcome to the Missouri Board and daily i post a thread called Whats Happening, please feel free daily to come on and tell us all about you and your daily life. Tammy, So glad to see you on this board.  You will find that it is the most caring, loving, praying bunch of people you've ever met.  We tell each other lots!!!  My husband says "I can't believe you posted about falling down in the storage closet at work", and I just say that my friends care about everything that happens to me, good and bad.  It's not all sweetness and light, our lives are not that way, but we hold each other up, laugh together, cry together, share ups and downs, kids and grandkids and even great grandkids, and in general love each other.  You'll see WOW moments and moments of great sadness but we have each other through it all.  Please come and visit often and post to Jan's daily What's Happening? thread.  That's how we get to know one another.  There are some folks up your way that will probably respond to you if they get on the board soon.  Welcome to Missouri's home board. Hi tammy I too was at his seminar on the 3rd---I'm going to TN to have the surgery---Dr H only does patients under 450 and I'm 543 so its off to Nashville I go.  Nice to see you on here!!  I was in the wheel chair by the door I think I wore pink, my husband and my aunt were with me.  Where did you sit?

Hi Tammy, I am also new to the board and have not been to a seminar yet. I am going to Dr Hornbostels meeting in June. Dr Hornbostel has been my surgeon for many years and you could not have chosen a more caring Doc.  He truely cares about his patients. You can't say that about every doc out there. Anyway good luck on your journey, I don't know yet but I hear it is a very wild ride. Can't wait....

Tammy do you know Craig He had surgery last year and used Dr. Hornbostel too . He is from Kirksville.
