WHATS HAPPENING THURSDAY
Today sure was hot and sticky wasn’t it. I sat out in a chair working on the iris situation today in the sun with a tank top on and I think I got a little sun there. Lol
I cut and washed and will dip them all tomorrow. And lay them in the sun to dry …after I get them all back into the ground i will buy this chemical that I can keep sprayed on them that will keep this horrible infestation from happening again. No way.
Had some good talk to several people in the chat room tonight. If you haven’t tried it hope next week you will . It is lots of fun and is a chance to get to know others better.
Susan and Janet and Melissa were all tired from their trip and visit.
Sounds like they had a really good time.

SHERR; Was good to see you in the chatroom tonight. And I love your new post about what did you eat yesterday. I think it will help everyone to see what they eat and maybe where they can improve. My biggest problem is salty things and if I don’t keep a tight reign on myself I will eat stuff I don’t need to eat. I do have a couple of chips now and then but for the most part leave them alone since I don’t have any sense about overeating them . my worst times come at night when I want to graze. So that is why I do my posting at night so I have to keep my hands busy on the keyboard no putting food in my mouth. Lol
I hope you and your new fellow get along good and that he is good to you as well as for you. Just make sure you know him really well before commiting too much to him ok?
We will all be praying that he is what he appears to be and you deserve to find one of the good guys. There are some of them out there believe it or not.

Yeah sometimes I do have a lot of emails to answer but that is ok. I love talking to people. A lot of them are people that I have never met before but just decided to email me from off the board I guess.
One lady got my name when she was researching wls. ?? now I don’t understand that one but oh well how ever. Lol
I can hardly wait until the reunion it will be so much fun. I have my cabin rented do you all?

You will have to come up with another reason now about why you don’t use the pool. Being too fat isnt going to hold water any more. Lol
If you have ladybugs on the tomatoes I would say yes you do have aphids. They love them and she will take care of them for you.
CHERYL: yes I know that about the iris but these were infested with the iris borer so a good clean up of the bed was needed. And the ones I threw away were soft and mushy and smelly. So had to settle for a lot of little ones due to the fact that some of the big ones were the one with the diseased bulbs.
Great that you will get to be at the COF meeting. Will be looking for you.
ERIN: so happy for you that soon your will have your surgery. Monday will be here before you know it. Will keep you in prayer. Is someone going to let us know when you are thru with surgery?
Lol on the garden, I could teach you and it doesn’t take much skill to pull weeds lol
Always need another pair of hands for that.

I'm sitting here waiting for the coffee to quit brewing... haven't made my oatmeal yet but I have eaten a small handful of cherries.
Kitties are fed, puppies are outside and everything else around the house is quiet as Mike is still in bed ( I snuck out quietly so he could sleep)...
I've been having lots and lots of things at work going on lately.. real stressors for sure but I have been trying to just roll with the punches. Their is just alot of things going on and it just gets old rather quickly. Just trying to keep a VERY positive mindset and I am trying to ignore their B.S. Oh I wish that someday that I don't have to go to work there.... who knows? Maybe someday that wish might come true! Hey does anyone have the POWERBALL NUMBERS ??? *g*
Mike & I are going to be starting a new training and diet program this weekend. I have to get tough with this or I am not going to get this last little bit of weight off of me. So we will let you know how things work out.... We are both excited about it....
Today is supposed to be a hot/humid one from the looks of it ... if anyone is going to get some yardwork done they had best get to crackin' before the sun comes up too much... it will be steamy for sure!
Well, oatmeal is done and I need to finish my brekkie.... hope that everyone has a splendid day...

Good Morning Everyone:
Mel's clicking her heels (without the ruby red slippers) and saying. "There's no place like home. There's no place like home!!!!!"
Got home last night around 6ish. Terry came out and help me unload the car. Unpacked everything showed him the cute shoes I got and some Christmas stuff I bought also. Janet & I brought back for our men White Castle. Terry ate 2 last night. Thinks Joplin needs to have a White Castle too. Got in some comfy clothes and watched a little tv. Popped into the chatroom for a sec last night. Before crawling into bed.
I am up and getting ready for my day today. I have a doc appt first thing this morning. Then were off to our old house to put some tar on the roof. Then run a few errands before heading back home.
I am sore from my waist to my knees. We walked all over Columbia and St. Charles while we was gone. Got to see the campus that my neice will be going to school this fall. Talk about beautiful!!!! Makes me wish I was alot younger and could join her. lol
We spent the night at Susan's house. And got to jump into her pool and visit. She made us this beautiful salad and my mouth has been watering for one ever since then. We lol most of the night and had such a good time.
Then Wed we meet up with Tammy back at Dr. Scott's office for her 1 week appt. Tammy got her drain out and was looking really good. While there Tammy had a student doc that was going over things with her and so on. Janet & I were sitten in the room with Tammy. And Janet told the S.Doc that we both had the surgery also. So he was asking us about our surgery. How long are we out, what type of surgery we had, how much have we lost, ect. I was telling him that I had the sleeve also. He asked when and how much have I lost. So I told him my surgery was April 24 of 2006 and I had lost 252lbs. He turns and looks at me and ask me what my name was. So I told him Melissa Russell. He goes I know you!! "Now I am thinking to myself I dont ever remember seeing him before" But he says that when Dr. Scott give a lecture or does him seminar. He mentions my name and how much I have lost. Calls me his "Prize Sleeve Patient". Needless to say I soared all the way home it made me feel so good to know. That Dr. Scott is proud of me and that he uses my history to hopefuly help someone else that was like me out there!!! (head swelling)
Well were sure did miss being on the board. Glad to be home. I hope everyone has a great day today!!!
Susan: Thank you so much for all that you did for us!!! You touched my heart with your hospitally. Those salad dressings that you have. What is the name of them and where can I get some???
Tammy: Congrats on the weight loss. It was good getting a chance to see ya again even if it was just for a little while.
Janet: Thanks for the road trip. You know me I had a blast. Of course anyroad trip with you is always fun. We find our own entertainment in ourselfs!!!

Dear Jan and OH Peeps~
It sure seems weird to be off the board for 2 1/2 days-wow...Lots of stuff to read and get caught up on!!
Yes, Jan-flooded would be the word-we have standing water (still) all over our yards, pool is a little down from when I left, but not much and our pond is overfilled and flooding the woods. Our forecast calls for rain the next 5 days...If that happens, our Shoal Creek that always floods the bridge, will flood again-no doubt. It was very high today..went to the c store this morning and was alarmed at what I saw!!
YAY on the Mammo results. I was so relieved and happy to know that it turned out okay, and without sounding arrogant, I told myself it would and just prayed about it. What a relief-I dont know what I would do if we got bad news about our mama J, thats for sure. I know everyone else feels that way too!! We love you so much!!
Ok-for a recap of our trip-we left about 4 am on Tues, got to Columbia early, so went to Walmart, got my hero some flowers (oh, they were so beautiful) and I also got a little bouquet for my nurse thats been emailing me and helping me through some situations-but she was out of the office-so I guess I will just have to wait and see if they live until Monday when she gets back-LOL...they pu****er in the vase and fed them, so I just hope they arent dead when she gets back!!
Went to my appt-what an emotional appt that was. Mel took a pic of the tattoo and we framed it-I put it in a bag with another little gift I got her and when she pulled it out of the bag, she thought someone drew it or something, but she thought that was awesome....so I told her that I had something to show her-I turned around-and showed her-and Mel and Megan said when she saw it-her bottom lip started to quiver. I could feel her back there touching it with her fingers, but she was really quiet-and then I heard that sound when you are trying not to cry or to catch your breathe when you cry-and I turned around-and she was crying so hard the tears were just rolling down her face-and I lost it too!! So did Mel and Megan-LOL...She hugged me so hard her badge was gouging my boob-LOL....She was having a really rough week....and I knew I was suppose to be there then, because I was able to tell her some things that helped her (thank you, God...I almost rescheduled~) She went over my MRI report with me, wrote questions on the back to ask the surgeon AND gave me the names of 2 spinal surgeons that she personally knows are the best-and one of them, her hubby works with and she speaks very very highly of-so I am going to check him out. She did say the more weight I can get off-the better it would be-but that right now I could still have great results at this weight-AND that IF I can handle the pain and its not interferring with my daily life-I can hold off if I want to-I started crying because it IS interferring with my life-but am not ready to commit to such a massive and serious surgery again so soon! She also told me that I DO have an ulcer-right where she showed me is where it hurts-dammit. She said that IF I have any issues with this while on my medication- I WILL HAVE to have a scope again and that all I have to do is call them and they will schedule it and she will scope me. She also told me that I will be at goal by my one year out. That was so reassuring to hear. She made me feel good about what I have already done-and I was afraid I hadnt done good enough. I also got a picture with her-and its one of the best pics I have ever seen-Im so happy about that. I am making a collage of pics-my before-my 3 mo, my 6 mo and my one year-and making a scrapbook. I will put the pic in my profile when I have Mel help me-LOL...
We went and found Megan an apartment for college students-we went and toured it and got the lease-Its soooo nice-I want to live there with her-LOL...she is going to have so much fun and I cant wait to go and visit with her and hang out...She is going to have so much fun. Please pray that everything with the apartment, the move and school goes well-I appreciate it.
We got done with that and started our trip to Susans house... That was a hard trip from Columbia-my back was retaliating and I even had Mel stop cause I just couldnt take anymore. I was ready to jump out of the car-LOL...Im glad we went tho-it was so much fun-and I havent laughed that hard in a long time. Needless to say-we had only had 3 hrs of sleep the night before, so the giggles came easy-my daughter was such a little comedian-and I was so glad to see her cut loose and have fun-she is usually so serious and stressed out~She had us laughing so hard we had tears running down our faces and I couldnt breathe. Its what we needed and I wished we would have had more time to talk-I think we couldve/wouldve stayed up all night long talking except we had to leave her house early to get to the college for registration and all that good stuff. WE left 1/2 hr late and still got there in time, thank God the traffic was all going west for the most part and we were going east!! Susan made us the best salad I think I have ever eaten and I am making it tonite for dinner. We got to swim and eat out on her deck and she has the most awesome deck and tiki bar-it was really neat. I cant wait to go back and visit when I have more time.
We got to the college and sat through a lot of info sessions and then had to walk a mile (LOL) the school is like 3 blocks of diff buildings and such and I think we did 5 flights of stairs. I thought I was going to die. But, we did it-but then we did the elevators afterwards-When it was time for Megan to get her school ID pic taken, I made her take her hair down, and threatened to lick my hand and fix it, if she didnt let me-the guy taking the pics was laughing his butt off at us-think he puts up with a lot of stuck up people during his day-LOL-we cut out early to get over to Tammys appt-so we could get on the road and get home....I was so beyond exhausted. Didnt sleep well at Susans because I am used to hearing crickets and frogs at night, not airplanes and traffic and thumping stereos in someones car-and then her dog was laying next to Megan and he jumped up and hit something and I flew straight up in the air. Scared the crap out of me....
Got to the Dr ofc again, saw Tammy-and she looked great. Has lost a lot of weight, but she will have to tell you how much-told her to get in and post about it-her student doctor knew Mel-he heard about her in Dr. Scotts lectures and Dr. Scott is using Mel as his examples in his statistics and such-I will be very surprised if he doesnt contact her to do a seminar with him or be on TV with him or go in front of the medical review board for her success in the sleeve. There isnt much documentation on its successes and him using her and the students knowing her-it was awesome-like I was sitting with a super star-she is proof that it doesnt have to be a 2 step surgery process like they were saying before!! Im so happy for her and her acheivement. What an accomplishment!!
Ok-gotta do a little recap with a couple of people and get off here-have to go through my book-Dr. Fearing wants me to quit relying on my shakes/liquids so much and start getting as much protein in by mouth that I can....so I gotta get a menu planned out.
**Susan-I cant thank you enough for sharing your house for the night. We had such a good time with you-but then I knew we would. Love you like a sister and I sure cant wait to come back and visit when we have more time. Getting together and going to Six Flags with the kids this summer sounds like a great plan! Make sure that someone calls me after the surgery-right away since most of the family will be there with you!! I want called right away and take your pin with you to the hospital....I am praying for you-you know that-and give Randi a BIG hug from me, tell her I love her!! Love ya, and thanks again for everything!!!
**Tammy-it was good to see you. Sorry we didnt get to go out and sit and talk. I knew if we didnt get on the road to get home-I wasnt going to make the trip-my back already had a huge knot on it-like a softball and was spasming, so it was time to go. Congrats on the weight loss. Hope you liked your goodies and your clothes.
**Lana-have fun on vacation....and hey-I dont care what you say-you should plan on going in the pool with us at the reunion, if my big wide a$$ can get in, then your skinny one can too-LOL Will be praying for safe travels and will see you soon. Love ya.
**Cindy-I will post about the reunion again...you can either come for the whole weekend and rent a cabin OR you can just come for the day-the DAY is Sat, Sept 8th, at greenvalleyresort in West Branson. Its $5 per person-but gives you all the same access that people have the rent the cabins-the pool and such. A lot of us are going down for the whole weekend. Hope to see you there-that would be great to meet ya.
**Chelle, I hope you go to the reunion. I would love to give you a big ol' hug. I will email you later. I hope you are doing well-Mel and I thought about you a lot over the weekend and I have kept you in thought and prayer. Love ya girl. Keep your chin up and everything will be great.

Jan,sounds like the Iris's are coming along. You seem to have so much patience. I don't know that I could do that. My patience is pretty good but I don't know that it would be that great.
Janet, I thought my ears were burning while the two of you were together. I would love to come to the reunion. I am still trying to convince DBF we can afford it. I'm glad you guys had so much fun.
