Hi Sheila, It was so good to meet you. You are so fortunate to have a friend to be by your side during this journey. The two of you will get even closer.
I had Dr Edwards as a physician. My pre op diet started two weeks prior to surgery. Week one was doing meal replacement protein drinks for two meals and eating one very healthy meal daily. Week two was total meal replacements with protein drinks. I could also have fat free sugar free puddings, applesauce, jello. all low fat . I lost 18-20 pounds that two weeks. Your body goes through some really weird changes. Everything smelled like garlic to me by the second week. I think it was all metabolic or maybe electrolite changes.
This second week was one of the hardest things about this entire journey so far. I also was told I was a bear to work with by my coworker. My husband just left me alone, he said I was grumpy. Oh well, it's all good now!!
