Ok, Last night I had 2 eggs for dinner and I am not sure if that was too much or if I didn't chew enough. Anyway, I sat on the couch for 30 min to let it settle. After that I took a shower and thinking it had settled..I took my pain medication before bed (was in pain again) and anyway I gagged on the syrup (pain med) and tried to sip the water and I wound up throwing it all up. I coughed for like 10 minutes straight and so now my side hurts from that and puking. I am afraid to take the pain medication again cause I don't wanna throw up again. Has anyone ever experienced this? Any suggestions? Thanks, Cheryl

Cheryl, You should call your doctor.  As far out as you are I don't think you should need pain medication anymore.  It sounds like something else is going on with you.  Please, call your doctor and tell them what you've posted here.  Hope you feel better really soon.  You've had quite a time of it. Hugs, Lana

Lana~ Thank you for your quick response. I know why I am having these pains. I have been too active and laughing too much. Yesterday I stood all day and I know that has a lot to do with it too. I called the hospital Saturday morning and never got a call back. I know I'm in dull pain now cause of the coughing I did lastnight. I dunno.

You haven't had a problem with the pain meds in the past have you??  Then I would say it isn't the pain meds.  I would say that maybe 2 eggs in one setting was to much. Or eaten to fast. But i really have no idea since I'm not there yet.  I would call or email your doctors office.

I have had problems with some pain meds in the past, but not this one. I thought the eggs not settled yet then toppled with the syrup & then sips of water was just too heavy in the pouch to hold. This syrup makes me want to gag anyway when I take it and I slightly gagged when I took it lastnight. I have been in bed all day trying to take it easy, so maybe that will help with the situation. Well, I have to go. TTYL  Cheryl

Cheryl, I bet that two eggs was a bit much. It doesn't seem like it would be though. I am still on my liquid diet following surgery. I too gag when I take the pain medicine. My personal oppinion is that you had too much in your pouch. I am still trying to figure out how to get it all in. Your in my prayers. Hope you are feeling better soon.  Elisa

Elisa- Yeah I am with you there. I guess it might have been too much. Let me tell you though, I am definately scared of eating eggs again. Here I am 24 hours later and I still feel icky (my throat is reminding me). So, yes most definately a behavior modification tool. Or if you have taken any psychology classes...definately some classical conditioning going on. Well anyway, how are you feeling? I wanted to go to the COF meeting tonight but I have been taking it easy (been in bed all day). I'm trying to recoup from lastnight. Yea that liquid diet thing gets old, let me tell ya.  Cheryl
