WHATS HAPPENING SUNDAY
Saturday sure was pretty huh? Now they are saying Sunday will be about 30 or so. This weather is sure crazy.
I didn’t do a lot today just enjoyed the weather. Worked out in the green house some getting things ready to start planting seeds soon. Got all my seeds out that I know I am going to start seedlings with. A lot of seeds I have I will just straight sow into the ground like marigold and zinnias. They do just as well like that I think as they do in trying to transplant them.
Sprayed my starfish , I got in
The conch shells wont but the starfish will.
Tomorrow is cleaning day. My bathroom cabinets are stuffed full and I have got to find something to do with all that stuff. Time to declutter again.

JAN COOK
Jan: Well, my house would be all shiny clean, if I didn't have all these people and critters living here! We live in it - so it gets messed up. So I just view it as job security for me.
......and a hearty amen from me on folks over indulging children these days. I'm a parenting instructor/coach/mentor and let me just say, I believe one contributing factor to the downfall of our society is selfish, over-indulged, spoiled children who think the world owes them everything on a silver platter without them having to lift a finger to earn any of it - just because they've been born. I think, in part, this is stemming from this whole movement to "build children's self-esteem" above all else. They promote them in school, when they don't earn it. They praise them, when they don't earn it. They give them "things", that they didn't earn (and certainly don't need) - all thinking they are building self-esteem; when in reality they are building egos. It puffs them up, it doesn't build them up. I'm all for praising our children, and letting them know they are loved (and we should always love our children unconditionally - regardless of their behavior, but sometimes, if their behavior warrants, that might have to include some tough love!); but we need to stop loading it on and piling it on thinking it's helping. It's not.
I believe in many cases it's misplaced guilt on the part of the parents; or praise as a bribe tactic. Whatever the reason; it may work somewhat well to control behavior in a toddler or preschooler; but be warned, it doesn't work so well in older children and it will not only get expensive for you - but unless your goal is to produce a self-centered, egotistical, selfish human being that will forever be mooching off of you: stop now!
Okay. Off my soapbox.
Have a great day everyone!!
Today I have church and my Sunday school class to teach. Then we have our church Valentine's dinner right after service. So a busy day!! Traci <*)))>< | Sullivan, MO
