I'm not sure about Joplin but there's one in springfield once a month that a couple from Joplin come to and I'm sure you might could hitch a ride if you wanted to attend.  Here's the info about the support group,  Im sure the ones that drive from Joplin will see this and respond.   Its a great support group.

Hope to see ya there!!

There is a support group in Mr. Vernon.  You can go to the MO bariatrics web page and go to support groups and it will tell you when they meet.  If that doesn't work let me know and I will look up the guys # that hosts the meetings.  Its a psych Dr. Van Pelt.  Hope this helps! Good luck! LR

I know there is one in Joplin called the "Lucky Losers" and believe it meets once a month on a Saturday morning. I've asked a lady I work with who attends that meeting to hop on here and post some more details.

There is a support group in Joplin. Our meeting is at 10am, the 3rd Saturday of each month and held at 32nd and Indiana, in the Children’s Miracle Network conference room.  I've been there only once and enjoyed it very much.  Nobody understands the joys and challenges of bariatric surgery as well as someone who has/is experiencing it.
