Dumb question....

Ok, don't know if I should make a doc appointment so I thought I would pick your brains.

I have an issue with the area where my drain was.  It's been out a week and I noticed that there is a raised area and it's still weeping.  If I apply pressure I get some really dark blood but don't see any infection.  It's a little painful but not really red or hot, so it doesn't seem infected.  But the fact that there seems to be a build up of something concerns me.

So the question is....should I go to my doc or just keep putting triple antibiotic cream on it and keep it covered?

Thanks for your help,
Peggy

Peggy mine did same thing but was told not to put any antibiotic cream or anything like  that on it cause it will grow bacteria, They told me to just keep it clean and keep a dry telfa on it.

Thanks guys...

I figured I needed to call just since it won't go down.  I've got it covered and I'll get an appointment when I can.  I was sure it wasn't an emergency, just wasn't real sure how long to wait.

Thanks again.
