Something really struck me when I read Luke 5:12-13 where he said to Jesus “Lord if you are willing you can make me clean" and of course Jesus said “ I am willing".  You know that made me think do we realize that Jesus is ALWAYS willing, its us that are not willing?  I mean whatever situation we are in or whatever we are in need of Jesus is ALWAYS willing to help us and provide for our needs or to help us meet our needs we just have to be willing to accept the help.  If any of you are like me I like to get things done on my own without help but sometimes we just need the help and have to be humble enough to ask for it.  When we ask for help Jesus is right there ready and willing to help us.  He only wants the very best for us and wants to see us do well.  That’s one thing I have to work on is accepting help when we need it instead of being my stubborn self and trying to do it on my own.

The devotional goes right along with that this morning, it talks about receiving what God has in store for us, receiving His abundance and grace.  It even says God knows we will stumble and yet He is still right there to catch us when we do, isn’t that just great??? It doesn’t matter what we do or how we act God is there to forgive us and help us get on the right track, halleluiah.  What an amazing, wonderful God we serve.  If that doesn’t light a fire under you then I don’t know what will!!

***Bec*** That reading out of that little book goes right along with today’s again.  Isn’t it just simply amazing how God speaks to you and you end up finding what He is saying in a couple different places?  I just love it!! I love how God does that, makes you know He really wants you to pay attention to what He is saying today.  You know another thing, because you extend grace to others because you have been so blessed it really blesses others and I just know the Lord is going to give it back to you 100 fold and then some.  If anyone that ever has the privilege of meeting you and your family they will come away so blessed way beyond belief, that’s how we feel when we have the chance to spend time with you and Paul.  Paul may be a quiet man but you can sure feel the presence of God on him, the both of you simply “bless our socks off".

Daily Devotional

Jeremiah 29:11
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

God wants to do something new in your life today. He knew you would have setbacks and He knew that life wouldn't always be fair. But, God wants to restore to you what the enemy has taken away. He always has something better in store for you than anything you can imagine. God doesn't care where you've been as much as He cares about where you're going. He knows that everyone falls short; that's why the Bible says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us." Don't let the enemy keep you focused on past disappointments and mistakes. You don't have to pay God back for your past mistakes and failures. That's what grace is all about. It's a free gift. You are free to receive God's mercy and forgiveness.

Today's thought: God, give me the strength to set my focus forward today. Thank You for continuously giving me another chance and for being more concerned with my future than my past.

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Good Morning Andy...

You are always so very kind in your mention of Paul and I... I would be amiss if I did not say again.... that if there is any good thing that come from me... it most sure is the Lord using me in spite of myself. I'm just a very very fallible woman!  When I think of all the times I have failed Him it really saddens me... but the devotional verse today is one I have lent on for myself and quoted to others many many times!  He does have a plan for us and it is a GOOD plan!  A FUTURE a HOPE!  Now if I can just stay out of the way of it! ~ha and let God do his work in me then things will be GOOD like He promises!

Reading thru the scripture again this year has surely impressed upon me my need for Him in a whole new way.   What we needed a few years ago may not be what we need today... and what we need today and may not be what we need in a few years... that's why it's so important to stay connected all the time... so the Lord can feed into us what we need for "such a time as this".

In thinking of the old testament reading today... and the punishment folks received when they did wrong(death in many instances)... wonder how much higher our crime rate is today verses back then?

I loved a part in the Psalm today:

When we were overwhelmed by sin, you forgave our transgression
.

Isn't this what it most all boils down to?  Boy I sure don't want to trample over His forgiveness!

And then the Proverbs...

The desire of the righteous ends only in good.

This word humbles me this morning...

Have a good and blessed day.

Bec
