I'm a part-time substitute teacher for the junior and senior high school in our town. I subbed yesterday morning. As I introduced myself to the students (high schoolers in this class), I heard one of them whisper to another student - "Is that Teresa's mom? - She's soo skinny!" I have no idea who said it and I let it pass but it sure put a smile on my face and was a real ego booster for the rest of the day. Melody

Melody... I have to "repost" to your boost of ego!! I had surgery on the 19th. Home on the 20th. I honestly do not recall replying to you so I'm gonna do it again. Guess the drugs were doing their job. Good thing I wasn't driving. Anyway - how cool for you!! You are skinny. And your daughter's friends are noticing. Coming from teens that is really neat. I know when I went to my daughters class last spring for her "child of the week" a few of her classmates commented on the the "picture" of me in the collage didn't look like me because I was so much smaller. Makes you feel good. Have a Good Day! Gala

Gala, you had surgery on the 19th? What for? You have really gone through the challenges. We'd like to give you the support if you feel comfortable telling us what is going on with you. -Hugs Melody

I had a hysterectomy. I've been severly anemic since my WLS. The added cycles were not helping. I've received iron transfusions weekly for the last 2 months to no avail. It wasn't emergency..yet it was. When I saw the 'new' ob she insisted on doing it immediatly. TOld me I would bleed less w/the post op than I would w/my next cycle and heaven only knows how long that cycle would have lasted. Soo....after we found out that I wasn't pregnant I had surgery a week later. SHe wanted to do it...like oh'...2 days later and I said I couldn't do it that quickly. In the back of my mind I've known that it was probably gonna happen. However, my ob wouldn't even talk to me about it. So my hemotologist referred me to a new ob - who was gun ho on getting it down. I'm back to work 1 week post op and doing okay. Gala

Melody, That is so wonderful! I cannot "weight" until people notice. I have only lost 20 lbs so far, but I go for my first fill tomorrow. (I had the lap band). Hopefully, I will then have some restriction and will start to lose again. Just to let you know... my son is loving BYU and we get to go see him for parent's weekend the 6-8th of October! Can't wait! Again, congrats to you - you do look "simply mah-velous, dahling"!
