At our last Stake Conference our Stake President gave us a challenge to learn about the Willie and Martin Handcart company. I know that stories have been printed in the Friend Magazine but I have failed to read them. Last night after the children were in bed, I was browsing the TV guide for our area. At 9:00 pm on the Idaho Public Television station (One I don'****ch) I noticed that a documentary was to be shown about the Willie and Martin Handcart company. I planned to watch it but at the last moment I got the inspiration that I should video tape the recording. I'm thankful that I videotaped it. It was produced in part by the Mormon church. It was historically accurate (I say that because the entire program was exerpts from the journals of those involved). How thankful and blessed I feel for being born in this day and age when I don't have to go through the struggles that those early pioneers faced. I plan on having a FHE in the near future and sharing this tape with my family. How blessed I feel to live in a day when the technology is available for us to learn of these things. Melody
