New Years Resolutions
Today being New Years Eve, it's time to make my resolutions. I thought that maybe if I made my resolutions public, then maybe I'd have more incentive to keep them.
Most years I have good intentions but we all know what happens to good intentions. They just sit there and don't go anywhere.
I actually made a resolution a couple years ago that I kept and am still keeping to this day. But that is another blog for another time.
Topic for the day and for the new year - What resolutions am I going to try to keep.
I have several that I'm going to try to worthily keep. Some may be easier said than done.
1) I'm going to try to read my scriptures everyday.
2) I'm going to try to read the scriptures out loud with my young children at least 4 times a week.
3) I'm going to try to have FHE each week (most of the time we have succeeding in this but I'm going to try to do it more diligently)
4) I'm going to try to attend the temple once a month
5) I'm going to learn the PAF program for family history.
Your turn. Be brave and tell everyone what your goals are for the coming year.
Here's to a wonderful new year.

Great goals Melody!
I actually tried out a "treasure map" for my 2006 goals. It's making the goals visible instead of just writing them down. I had a colorful poster with magazine cutouts and eral pics to represent my goals. They say that the visual is so miuch more successful and I can honestly say that for me ....this has been true! .....I have not had time to do the cut and pasting yet for another treasure map but will be doing it in a couple of weeks during my surgery recovery. ... Who says I can't start my "new year" on Feb 1st?
But....here are a few of my thoughts for 2007.
1. prepare for Sundays better by reading the assigned material in the lesson study guide.
2. Listen to church cd's and music while traveling instead of ugly stuff.
3. Lose 20 pounds by May 19th (daughter's wedding in Mesa Temple)
4. Exercise 30 minutes minimum for 6 days a week.
5. Walk in two 5 K races, one 10 K race and enter one fitness event.
6. Get my Personal Trainer certification.
7. Get a new job that I'm passionate about.
8. Improve the quality of time spent with my wonderful hubby.
9. "De-Junk" my house! (one room a month)
10. Do 100% visiting teaching.
....I've already started on these! ....Isn't it fun to become better people!!!

Great goals. I forgot to list two more goals that I have been working on. I read both the Relief Society and the Sunday School lesson each week before Sunday. I prepare myself enough that should the occasion ever arise that the teacher is a no-show, I would be knowledgable enough on the lesson to step in and give it. (although I really hope that never happens).
Enjoy your nice warm arizona weather. Our Idaho weather is COLD. At 10:30 this morning the temperature outside was 1 degree. It has warmed up to 2 degrees now. With the wind chill the weather feels more like 14 below zero. I guess we need the cold to kill all the pesky critters and bugs that like to overwhelm us come spring.
Have a good day.
