Our little ones really are paying attention

I had a precious experience this week. My newly baptized 8 year old daughter has a cat that she dearly loves. The cat is very old, nearly blind, almost no teeth, etc. etc. etc. One day this week the cat was lying on the floor and it looked like one of the other house cats had been in a fight with it. The cat was not doing well. The cat just lay on the floor and didn't move. My daughter was in tears and almost hysterical. The cat looked like it was dying. We had a long talk about the age of the cat, the cat was probably in pain and death would be a blessing for the cat. My 8 year old piped up "Mom, I went without any food and any water asking Heavenly Father to make him better and he didn't". We then had a long talk about Heavenly Fathers "Will" and not our "Will". I have talked to her in the past about fasting but she never seem to be paying any attention. She fasted on her own without even telling us. The rest of the story is that by evening, the cat was up and around. It was a good lesson for my daughter. Heavenly Father DOES hear our prayers and He DOES answer them. Melody
