I saw Dr. Sunby today. Ho Hum!!! I am needing some help coming my way. Major prayers that is for sure. And I don't know that I can do it...I have to so I guess I will. I have gained 10 lbs since I first saw him for my initial consult for WLS. Because my BMI is so close and on the border of an open surgery or a LAP -- that gaining the 10 lbs didn't help me 1 bit. I have been highly advised (not made mandatory..I did get the very loving gentle hints he sent my way) to loose at least 10 lbs -- but 15 would be advisable and 20 would be awesome (his words not mine)....So in order to do so I have to go on a liquid diet basically for the next month. IF and I repeat IF I followed it to a tee -- *including exercise* I know I could loose at least 30 lbs --because I have btdt before. But I also was on Merida at the same time. We discussed me going back on it for the next month. He feels that the Lexapro is more important than loosing 20 lbs and therefore said not to do it. I will call my dr that rx the lexapro and lamitcal and see if just the lamictal alone would be okay for the next month. The Lexapro is at such a low dose maybe it would be okay who knows. Regardless....I'm sweatin this big time. I really want to have a lap procedure. Yet no matter how I look at it there are no guarentee's that it will be lap even if I loose the weight so do I stress over it? I really tried not to cry when I saw what the scale said today....maybe it was broke... Then again..I'm sure it wasn't. Love, Gala

What a challenge Gala. Have faith and do your best. You'll have the procedure that's best for you - just have faith and do your best. Do you have a surgery date yet? Has your insurance even approved you yet? Keep us informed. (HUGS) Melody

Thanks Daph for your support. You didn't scare me or anything like that. I am not sure about other surgeons but where I will be going there are 2 surgeons that perform the surgery. My dh has surgery on the 14th...his surgeon does it alone. I REALLY like the fact that there are 2 drs doing this. Two pair of eyes ect ect. It isn't so much the pain, length of time under, scarring ect ect.. But mostly because my dh is having his done open (well kind of his will be an insision of about 5-6 inches vs the longer one) and our surgeries are only 3 weeks apart. Regardless of if I loose the weight or not....there is no guarentee that I will have LAP -- so I have decided I will -- cut out all sweets, try to cut out all diet soda, cut portion sizes and over all eat just protien (modified atkins basically). This will be better for me in the long run I am sure anyways and so I'll give it a try. Thanks for your support and advice. Love, Gala
